Its 7 days and its not like they are going to be needing their backup much soon or need to win games really. This is playoff insurance.

This is good for the player and good for the team. He's not resigning here to backup the starter, so common sense dictated that he be moved. For those underwhelmed by the return, it is what it is. If there were better offers out there I'm sure Treliving would have taken them, but at least he didn't hold on to an asset just to put on a stone facade. Nothing but best wishes extended to Rittich, and props to Treliving for pulling the trigger on a needed deal.

Nice to see the Flames are getting rid of some free agents. The value is pretty decent, so it's a job well done by Treliving. Hopefully this continues and we see more players moved tomorrow.
All the best to Rittich! Hopefully he gets to start a playoff game in his career.

Tough trade market, but extracted some value. Happy to see it!

no kidding, Hall was #1 on every deadline list I saw and I don't even think I saw Rittich's name. Not to mention that very few teams need a backup goalie, everyone wants a forward who has a reputation for scoring.
