Good times back then.
That was always a a big concern for me. Everyone else was beating up the Sens and it was going to be hard to gain ground in those games. And sure enough...

The two game sweep of Montreal is about the only thing that is keeping the season alive right now.

Heck if they would have won on Monday they would still have some hope but every loss against Ottawa is points they have lost to the Oilers, Jets, and even Canucks who have handled the Senators.

Been a fan of this team since the early 80's. With the exception of a couple years their consistency has been a thing to marvel at. Hoping they surprise me tonight. Make us fans proud Flames.

Right now the Flames are to their fanbase, like the probe in Star Trek IV is to every living thing. As it coasts buy it sucks the energy out of everything and floods the earth with sadness.

Last 10 the Sens have 3 wins. 2 of them against the Flames.

Sens still are a terrible team.

Well if a fire breathing godzilla pickle doesn't help change their fortunes, nothing will.

Yeah, but their goalie knows where the net is.

I know, early on they had no goaltending. But at the same time, 37GA in the last 10. Jennings level, that's for sure

The Flames win when the other goalie is off. Eg: Anderson. Probably because, while they don’t generate a lot of grade a chances, they can win a low scoring game if they can sneak in a couple outside shots.

I like how they are the invincible spartan horde against us, but against the rest of the division they are a bunch of mike duffys, nancy ruths and patrick brazeaus.

I'm surprised Sutter hasn't decided to change up the lines. The Lindholm to center thing always struck me as Wards, "smartest man in the room" dealio.

I'm fine with Lindholm at center for the player, but I feel it really strangles the rest of our lines AND its not as though Lindholm-Tkachuk together are dominating shifts anyways.

Not that I'm saying anything new but I thought Darryl would be trotting out his "own" lines with the limited success we've seen these ones operating at this far.

So far, Sutter, Gio and Monahan have all said they haven’t changed much of what Ward was doing other than working on speed, intensity, etc. So I guess that applies to lines as well. It took until last game to move Ritchie off.

I wonder why they haven’t used Buddy on that revolving door. Or Dube, which makes way more sense (other than he’s the one guy who’s found his way into the doghouse for some reason).

Start time is good. I can check the score after work and decide if it is worth listening to on the drive home and watching while at home.

The Flames worked hard on Monday night. They carried the play for the most part but they were let down by two reoccurring themes.

1. Don't create enough dangerous chances so they make goalies look good
2. Forcing the play and making bad decisions resulting in odd man rushes or players out of position.

This isn't a team that doesn't care in my mind. They just don't have the horses. A Calgary Flames team with a Monahan/Gaudreau line that doesn't create any five on five offence is pretty much dead in the water.

I disagree. They have the horses

They keep ringing it around the boards and not going to the net, they will get the same result
