My guess is ownership told him they want to see Sutter coach these guys before making any drastic player moves or moving any of the current stars out.
Remember it’s this ownership that was hesitant to go full rebuild and trade all the Flames from Iggy’s era, so not sure they’d want to do the same with this core.
