True but you gotta be careful...grass seems greener but basically swapping forward groups will not go well. Its the 18th and Buffalo has 2 goals this month. Eichel is useless if we have nobody left to play him with

Johnny (useless during the playoffs), Monny, Gio, and Bennett to Buffalo or to other contenders for picks and prospects that Buffalo wants for Eichle. Those 4 could be turned into the value of Eichle. Get it done treliving. Be bold or find a new job.

He would be great to get-he's not scoring much in Arizona, but it seems nobody ever does. Kid's only 20, and he's got good days ahead of him. Reminds me a bit of a young Brandon Saad-good skater, plays a bit of a power forward game.

A bit misleading as they’ve only played 3 games.

Tkachuk/Monahan/First for Eichel/Ristolainen/Mittlestadt

We would have to get rid of a D-man-maybe trade Hanifin for another forward. Risto, I think, would be good with Tanev.

No.

This is EXACTLY when you swoop in to make a bid for Eichel.

The utter lack of offense is undoubtedly an aberration and will not last.

Dude is capable of generating and could use a change of scenery. We've seen him the last couple seasons be a 1.2 PPG upper echelon center that can change games.

Risto is a right shot like Tanev.

That deal heavily favors the Flames in my opinion.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I suck at trade proposals, that’s why I never post them, lol

My reasoning was this:
-Risto has been in trade rumours for a few years now. It has been said in the press that Buffalo has been trying to trade him. His advanced stats are bad, but his size, skating, and physicality are tantalizing, and some believe (myself included) that he would look much better somewhere else besides Buffalo. Could have sworn he was a left shot, though.

-Mittlestadt was a high draft pick, who hasn’t come close to fulfilling his potential. I thought he looked fine, until Kruger took over.

-Risto and Mittlestadt were basically throw-ins to balance out the trade, the cap, and to entice them into getting rid of a few problems along the way. I admit, I put Mittlestadt in there for selfish reasons, because I like the player, and I think he can rebound.

Do a complete blending of the team this offseason when teams are working around flat caps and the expansion draft.

Gaudreau to Flyers for Konecny and Frost
Monahan to Wild for Dumba and Rask
Bennett to Sabres for Mittelstadt
Tkachuk and Zary to Senators for Stutzle
Hanifin to Leafs for Nylander
Giordano to whoever wants him

Someone has been spending too much time on NHL21 Be a GM mode.

I’d prefer to keep Gaudreau, but I’m not even sure it’s possible. Is he willing to re-sign in Calgary? Does he want the pressure of being the team’s top player? Does he want to go back East?

The lack of success this team has had in recent years, plus the current dysfunctional team atmosphere is going to make it hard to keep him I think. If that’s the case then Treliving better be working hard to maximize the return on a trade.

Perhaps we can do a thread on these questions as it likely needs to be discussed, as I don't believe there has ever been any discussion on whether Johnny would, or should, be signed to an extension. Back east? Poppycock!!

It is hard to know what Gaudreau is thinking for us, maybe BT knows. I would rather keep him. If he really wants to change this team up I will play NHL 21 GM mode for a minute.

To Philly: Gaudreau
To Calgary: Shayne Gostisbehere, Nolan Patrick, 2021 1st.

To Ottawa: Sean Monahan, Sam Bennett, Calgary 2021 1st, Flyers 2021 1st
To Calgary: Brady Tkachuk.

Lines:
B. Tkachuk/Lindholm/Dube
M. Tkachuk/Backlund/Mangiapane
Lucic/Patrick/Simon
Nordtrom/Ryan-Froese/Robinson

Hanifin/Tanev
Gio/Andersson
Valimaki/Ghost

Man both those trades are so so bad; especially the gaudreau one. The lineup you put there is so much worse than what we are rolling out right now. Just gross

I love when someone posts something like this and it gets ignored so everyone can post there trade our 6 best guys and all our picks and prospects for these superstars ideas. Trades that aren't happening

Imo hayton is the type of player the Flames should look at. Maybe in a Bennett deal. Worst case scenario we save some cap on Bennett if Hayton doesn't pan out

Still think Backlund and Gio need to move first but I'd keep Backlund if Bennett goes

I always had this assumption that there was a deal to be made between the Flames and Yotes that draft day that would have sent Hamilton to Arizona for the 5th pick which the Flames would have used to draft Brady Tkachuk. Once Ottawa took Tkachuk at 4 the Flames-Yotes deal fell apart and then Chayka went ahead and drafted Hayton.

I could obviously be wrong but that is a theory I have had for a little while.

There were a lot of rumors at that draft the Canucks would trade their pick for Hanifin but Hughes slipped down the draft a bit and that killed the deal. The Flames and Canes then came together on the blockbuster.

Had those original deals went through I wonder if there would still have been an appetite for a Ferland+Fox for Lindholm deal?
