Just thought I'd throw this out there as I'm watching the TO/Montreal game but I wish that Sportsnet would get rid of Kyle Bukauskas. I hate that guy so much. I get the sense that he is trying to be a replacement for Ron MacLean.
Kyle is a SAIT grad and IMO is one of the best personalities on Hockey Night.

Strange how these decisions get made. Bell fires Natasha S who in my view was very strong and yet they keep Kayla Grey who is considerably weaker.
I imagine salary comes into play. Departments probably have to cut X amount of dollars and O'Toole and Staniszewski were both likely getting paid more than some of the newer hires. It could also come down to making cuts while still maintaining a level of diversity as well for all we know.

I think Kayla Grey is one of their top anchors.
A lot of personal preference in all this though.
You think she's weaker - doesn't mean that's the evaluation that Bell made.
Her work covering BLM in the sports world was outstanding and from the heart. I find her authentic, funny and informed. She's great.

Maybe all these guys could get together and start their own deal. Maybe a Barstool sports tv channel, or The Athletic.
Basically revive the old The Score channel.
Would be tough, have to be right place right time and today I think we're saturated with sports information at a time when sports isn't as important.
Remember Barstool started in the early 2000s as print, gambling and fantasy when it was relatively new. David Portnoy was handing them out for free in subway stations like the Metro in Calgary. And it exploded because it had never been done before. What new idea is out there that hasn't been done?

Obviously salary and other things factor into the decisions.
I haven not seen her work on BLM related issues in sports.
As an avid consumer of sports highlight shows every night, my assessment is based purely on my own view of the delivery of the on-air product.
They are about as punk as nickelback is metal. Like them but no.
Green Day is a true punk band.
They hit it big and went pretty commercial, but there was a time when they were a true DIY skin of their teeth, take no prisoners punk rock act. Many, many punk bands looked up to them and were influenced by them in their early years.
You COULD argue the sell-out angle, but hard to blame guys for getting paid if they get the chance. Most don't.
I have nothing to add to the main discussion but the sideline Green Day discussion, they were one of my most memorable/odd concert.
The giant company Salesforce has a yearly conference where they pull out all the stops including a night with a high profile band. My year they rented out AT&T Park for Green Day with Blondie opening (she was fantastic). Towards the end of Blondie’s set it started to rain and then pour just before Green Day came out, a few songs into their set the sound completely cuts out. Turns out the tent over the sound engineers broke and dumped water over the boards frying them. There’s a bit of a break as they figure out WTF happened and try and get some sound back, Billie comes out with a guitar and gets those of us in front of the stage to sing en masse while he plays. Eventually they rig up something and get some sound back and finish the set. Hugely memorable concert that was a ton of fun in the end.

I could probably tolerate him longer with out that hair trying to attack me through my TV screen.
