Oil fans ever complaining about reffing or embellishment is a joke. Their team gets more preferential treatment from the refs than any team in the league, by far - and they have players that go down at the slightest tap of a stick on the ice anywhere near them. even if it isn't a trip.

There were definitely some missed calls on the Flames during the game, but there were also missed calls on the Jets. The refs were letting pretty much everything go unless you were dragged down on a breakaway... or just high sticked in the face.

Oiler fans just don't have a clear understand on "playoff officiating". The game last night was pretty much that in the 3rd. The refs put the whistles away and let the team decide things until they had to call the high stick.

To be able to just relax and concentrate on playing his game without the threat of being demoted if he makes a bad play or has an off game, will hopefully make a huge difference for him and just maybe he can finally put it all together. Obviously, he would love for his career to really take off...but I really believe he would also love for it to happen as a Flame.
He is in a pretty fortunate position right now since no other player cemented himself on the top line yet. Bennett, as bad as he can be sometimes is not a step back from Simon or Leivo even when they are at their best.

Wouldn't it be something if he got some confidence and turned his game (and trade wishes) around.

I personally don't think it will happen, but one can wish.

Last night's game was a total team effort. I was really impressed by the Flames 3rd line, especially Backlund and Lucic were beasts! Impressed with Bennett as well - that's 2 games in a row that he showed up to play! A complete team effort from start to end!

3-1 vs Van
4-1 vs Ott
2-1 vs Edm
1-1 vs Tor

Would set themselves up nicely for a run at a top 2 or 3 seeding.

Honestly it was refreshing have the refs put the whistles away for most of that game. I wonder if it hadn't been such an even game if we would have seen them trying to game manage more

Bonus of the upcoming schedule is that we could take the Canucks completely out of playoff contention. Although that's a matter if time anyways.

That's the game I like too. No PPs. PPs are like football on ice where both teams ice offensive and defensive formations. Boring.

Nothing beats back and forth hockey.

There's a much more substantial body of work showing Ryan as being a very effective third-line centre. Froese probably isn't a consistent NHLer. Things can obviously change—just look at Ryan as an example—but I'm not optimistic.
I totally agree.

but I'm starting to wonder if Ryan has some inappropriate pictures of you with a sheep!

Hanifin was all over the ice, making all kinds of plays. Skating it deep into the offensive zone a couple of times scanning and looking to make plays. We used to see Brodie do that and I've wanted Hanifin to do it since he arrived.

Partnership is great but Hanifin has really elevated his play. Keep it up man, playing fantastic.
