The Q stuff has been around on 4chan longer then burther-Trump, so I highly doubt it's related to the Trump organization.

Your memory is confused. Oil stain is right. QAnon has adopted a number of conspiracy theories from sources everywhere, so that does come into play. QAnon is an extension of the cicada 3301 movement which was purported to be a front for the CIA to recruit code breakers. Really sketchy group taking advantage of the weak and disenfranchised.

I think there is a branding mix-up as well. While more media savvy people know the difference between the computer hackers group Anonymous that try to out unsavory people on the internet (including politicians). Then QAnon came along around the same that Anonymous went on hiatus and I don't think their branding was an accident. They wanted to have that underground vigilante image when spewing there crap.

When I first heard of QAnon I wondered if it was an evil splinter group from Anonymous that instead of catching bad guys, they would frame good guys for money.

QAnon and Anonymous are very different interests. QAnon is a spinout from the cicada 3301 organization which has been rumored to be a front for the CIA to find cryptographer talent. Cicada 3301 was all about using gaming theory to motivate people, which is the exact same methods used to attract QAnon followers. Every Q drop (post) is a puzzle and the community works together to solve the puzzle or find meaning in the text of the post. The psychology of this is fascinating to watch develop as the movement grows.

The docuseries is called QAnon: The Search for Q and is available on Amazon here in the States. It's a VICE documentary and well worth the watch. You might be able to watch it here.

I don’t think this proves anything regarding Trump inciting the riot.

Trumps whole speech could have been about peaceful protest and the exact same cell phone data would exist. All this shows is people who were around the riot are likely to be Trump supporters.

I think they're still waiting to get his tax returns, but yeah, I wouldn't expect much. People had fantasies of him walking out of the White House into handcuffs or fleeing the country, but nothing's ever really going to happen to him. At worst he'll probably have to pay some fines/civil penalties and have some embarrassing information about him and his business dealings aired in court.

Yeah...Its like QAnon is designed to weed these people into their ranks in order to differentiate them from normal society.

These people need to be relocated to the 'Baffin Island Re-Education Facility and Polar Bear Preserve.'
