Martial Law, and no. He doesn't need more power to act on the threats, he just has to actually act on them.

I think Biden is going it right. Focus on his tasks at President, having COVID a top prioroity and staffing his cabinet.
Letting the House and Senate do their jobs, letting the DOJ do its job.

That's how it should be. We've just become used to Trump needing to be the focus of everything that we've forgotten that's not how it's supposed to be.

Its illegal to carry a gun anywhere in DC so the chances a bunch of congressmen are doing so....are zero.

They are just being entitled dooshwaddles.

Just can't see anything happen at the inauguration. We're talking about VIPs like the Clinton's, Obama's and Bush's in attendance. The security is going to be crazy tight.

Ohhhh I think Lauren Boebert is probably carrying. She's a nutcase. She also has a record so what's more charge?

Yeah, it is hard to imagine that any crazies get close. They will likely have helicopters patrolling and monitoring from the above as well.

The only way something happens, is if it is an inside job. Which, given some of these Republicans, I wouldn't actually be too surprised.

I don't think that's right about being illegal to carry in DC. From what I read, concealed carry with a permit is legal in DC, and congresspeople are allowed to concealed carry in the capitol, but not inside the house and senate chambers, which is where the metal detectors are.
Edit: from an article when Boebert was first raising the issue of bringing her gun to DC.

		| While members of Congress are exempt from federal legislation banning guns on the Capitol grounds, open carry is illegal in D.C. and conceal carry licenses from other states are not recognized in the District.
District of Columbia Concealed Carry Pistol Licenses are required and are only issued after a firearms training course, approved by DC Police, has been completed.

This is a really incredible accusation to watch develop: Democratic congresswoman Mikie Sherrill (former Navy pilot and federal prosecutor) claims that some of her Republican colleagues were taking groups through reconnaissance tours the day before the riots. https://www.northjersey.com/story/ne...48386002/?s=09 |

I dunno. I mean, I can believe it easily with the current crop of GOP, but how do you differentiate between recon and just a tour? Obviously she was in the Navy so she's got some cred, but unless the GOP was like "And here is where you can storm in, and this is where they'll barricade," it's hard to see absolutely no one else picking up on that and reporting it by now.

If it happened, it's far more likely in my admittedly un-expert opinion that whoever was giving these "tours" thought they were actually just tours.

Yeah, honestly no disagreement on that.

She seems like the sort of person who wouldn't make an accusation like this without having something to back that up, but if so she's going to be sharing that with the FBI and not with us.

Given Republicans' role in at-will employment, reduction of worker friendly regulations, and enacting pro-business laws, that's a real "I didn't expect the leopards to eat my face" moment. His company and their client felt it was economically beneficial to not be associated with Trump in any way and because there are very few protections for employees where he lives, he's a cog that can be fired without cause. That's the free market working exactly as intended. His value as an employee is reduced due to his association with a toxic brand. I mean, how little self-awareness does he have:https://twitter.com/user/status/1349175845928243200
