If they get really excited about Lawrence I could see them shipping out Darnold in a trade. I doubt they exercise the 5th year option on Darnold if they draft Lawrence.

It's also time for the reminder about how bad the Rams' new look is. Gradient is no good on uniforms. Exhibit b: The Canucks.

Of course they'll trade Darnold when they complete 0-16, but there will be a bunch of teams interested in Darnold, all of them not in division.

Did new England’s entire O-line opt out or get riddled with injuries forcing all backups to play? Abysmal.

Well that's the death of the Patriots for this year. The Rams very well could be the NFC team in the Superbowl. Aaron Donald is pretty much the defence version of Parick Mahomes.

I like moving the Giants and Browns to SNF. I think the Browns draw some casual interest being in the playoff picture. The Giants as Girly will attest could be on 7 game win streak right now. It may not be great teams but it should be a game with playoff implications.

Without a doubt they will trade Darnold but there's no reason to trade him to the Patriots as there will be several teams probably interested for the price of a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I don't see any team offering up a 1st round pick given he hasn't really shown much improvement in his three seasons but I have been wrong before.

Josh Rosen got a second round pick after producing one of the worst QB seasons in history. In the QB desperate world we live in it won't be shocking to see someone throw a first rounder at Darnold. Especially a team in the 20's who needs a long term QB solution (Pittsburgh?).

Rosen only had one year of stink attached to him. Darnold has 3 years of stink attached to him. At this point the odds of him turning into an elite starting QB are pretty low so if I'm running a team I find it hard to justify letting a 1st round pick go for him as a team could simply draft a QB with that pick an that QB wouldn't have to be great to be better than Darnold has been in his first 3 seasons. You can never put anything past a desperate GM so it's possible he fetches a 1st but I think that team will regret it. A team would be better off signing Trubisky and giving up no assets if they are looking for a reclamation project as I don't see much difference between him and Darnold.

Trubisky is objectively trash and has been crap from day one. Darnold had the idea that he would be decent at least. If a team I cheered for signed Trubisky for any reason other than to be a backup I’d be livid. Darnold you can talk yourself into having potential, Mitchell just sucks out loud.

Trubisky is a trivia question at this point: "Which QB was somehow taken ahead of both a future HOFer and the potential GOAT, by a franchise with perhaps the worst QB judgement in history?". I'm not sold on Darnold at all, but based entirely off every player immediately getting significantly better once leaving the Gase Base, he's worth a flier on.

Great example. Tannehill is a game manager who was ruined under Gase and now is flourishing in that manager role. Darnold could possibly be salvaged.

Not that I want anyone I cheer for getting him, you couldn’t pay me enough to expect anything out of a USC quarterback, but potentially he’s salvageable

Sam Bradford managed to go for a first round pick two times...So he's kind of comparable to the Darnold situation in that bad coach and bad team with bad players around him has had him going backwards plus some health issues.

Green Bay used a late first on a guy who they likely trade before he ever get's a start in a meaningful game.

So if a team like Denver hires Eric Bienemy and gives up a second round pick, and they're relatively healthy he could do okay with the pieces Denver could have in place if they don't have injuries like this year.

I am beginning to think that a QB named Sam is not a great idea. Bradford, Darnold, Rosen maybe they should stick to selling Green Eggs and Ham.

Check out Tannehill's Dolphin stats. He was good (not great but not terrible like Darnold) when he played but he had issues staying healthy as he's nowhere near a comparable. Darnold hasn't played well as a career 78 QBR over three seasons is horrible no matter how you slice it. Trubisky has been better in every single metric and while I'm not high on Trubisky at all I find is curious how some here are higher on a QB that's clearly played worse over his career. Darnold always had a sizeable bust factor and really he's kind of turned into what some thought he would regardless of his surroundings.

I think it's fair to assume that Darnold could be better under a good coach and in a better offense but really what QB isn't better when he goes to a better situation? IMO the ceiling is pretty low here for both Trubisky and Darnold as if a QB doesn't show anything in 2+ seasons as a starter it's kind of hope and prayer stuff that he's ever going to be really good so why would you give up a 1st for one of them when the one that's played better is available at a cost of salary only?

Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts will make his first NFL start Sunday, but team sources told ESPN that the Eagles still have every intention to keep Carson Wentz and have him be a major part of their team.

Despite his struggles throughout this season, the Eagles still believe in Wentz, 27, as a player and a person, and they think he can return as the type of standout quarterback he once was, according to team sources.

"None of this changes the belief that people have in Carson," one team source insisted to ESPN this weekend.

Mahomes just took a 30 yard sack.

That was probably the worst quarter of Mahomes career. Dolphins need to cash this one in.

The Cartel that got to Brady all these years in Miami looks to have gotten to Mahomes.

Dolphins and Vikings have dominated the Chiefs and Bucs everywhere but the scoreboard. We'll see if it costs either of them.
