Pretty much. The "Back To Brunch" crowd is tiresome and myopic.
Voting out Trump is the first step, not the solution.

It’s absolutely fascinating to me that people aggressively put Biden up on some kind of untouchable pedestal of righteousness and allow no negative discussion to happen. I understand that an election is right around the corner and the stakes are high, but the speed of which a lot of you jump on someone who posts something even remotely negative about Biden or the DNC is incredible. Is the Biden story fake news? Maybe/probably…but I honestly don’t know because like I said, almost zero main US news orgs are reporting on it. They’re all talking about why they’re not reporting on it (see below), but these are all the same outlets that jumped all over the Trump peeing on hookers story FFS so forgive me if I’m side eyeing them with skepticism on their motives. Why not just debunk it in hilarious and humiliating fashion rather than getting Twitter to block the sharing of it? Don’t people realize the kind of precedent that sets?
I want Trump to lose in epic fashion too – but the way to do that isn't to shield Biden from any negative press. My God, I even agree with Glenn Greenwald of all people.

Giuliani, etc, won't even confirm it's real. He's already said he brought it to the New York post because no one else would put this out without verifying.
He's said himself that he thinks it should be out there even if it's not accurate. If he thought it was accurate he wouldn't say that.

Hasn't there been years of arguments saying if you want to beat the Republicans, you have to stop playing mr nice guy? Playing strictly by the rules gets you last place. So now they are doing that, and suddenly they need to respect everything that gets thrown at them? I dunno, I think sometimes the ends do justify the means.

The timing of this if what makes me the most skeptical. Two weeks before election and suddenly all this "evidence" just happens to be found. It's just way too convenient. Anything that comes out at this point, whether against Trump or Biden, needs to be looked at skeptically IMO.
It's a tactic used too often that it is 100% expected at this point. Throw as many nefarious rumours out there as you can since there is no time to prove anything before the last day of the election.
It would be ignorant to not be skeptical at this point.

Whether you agree with that philosophy or not, it's supposed to apply to the Democratic party, not the press, which is in theory supposed to be independent. Obviously that's a fantasy at this point.
I don't know why this is surprising though. Eliminating Trump as president is one of many goals the achievement of which has been deemed more important than adhering to long-standing lilberal principles. At least this one actually is achievable, if all goes well. And it's not like the other side has been adhering to any sort of norms in their pursuit of the white house, either.
So yeah, Greenwald is right, although he's a myopic hypocrite.

Republican led congressional committees have found no evidence of wrongdoing by Joe Biden.
Joe Biden released a decade’s worth of tax returns - he wasn’t paid by anyone who wasn’t supposed to be paying him.
Glenn Greenwald was hand picked by Edward Snowden to release his documents - I’d be very curious to know how many of Glenn’s cheques Putin signs.

This. This is all that matters.
Nobody is throwing away their liberal values. Nobody is turning a blind eye to Biden's past or his flaws. Trump must not get a 2nd term. That's the bottom line here.

So Twitter is all aflutter about Trump releasing the video from the upcoming 60 minutes interview that he quit early.
It appears the highlight is him saying he wants the Supreme Court to get rid of Obamacare before the election. When Lesley Stahl pressed him on patients with pre-existing conditions who'd lose coverage, he insisted that they'd be protected. She asked, "How?", and he wouldn't/couldn't say how, and got pissed at the question. Of course, the ACA is the only thing forcing them to cover pre-existing conditions, and Trump insisting they'd be protected without giving a basis for how that would occur just doesn't cut it.
So it's a damned good question. My cousin in San Jose has big-ass pre-existing condition, and is on ACA. No insurance company is going to cover her if they don't have to so keeping the ACA is kind of a big deal.

And this is the other tactic used by people trying to suppress criticism from the left. Any member of the press who posts anti-Biden content is a Russian asset.

So we have Mr Mayor who is now known to be consorting with verified Russian agents, who is known to put out stuff regardless of facts, in a giant rush to put this out before the election specifically without getting it verified to do maximum political damage. Just from a smell test this already reeks.
Lets consider how Rudy supposedly got this information.
Quote:
- Hunter Biden, for some reason, decides to have 3 laptops repaired a thousand miles from where he lives.
- He then doesn’t return to get the laptops.
- The repair shop employee has a condition that doesn’t allow him to recognize people, but he decides that the laptops belong to Hunter Biden because of stickers from the Beau Foundation.
- He then proceeds to search through Hunter’s laptop and finds these incriminating e-mails
- He then contacts the FBI, or the FBI contacts him (yes, this repairman claims both) and they issue a subpoena to get the laptop.
- Before the laptop is taken by the FBI, this repairman makes a copy of the hard drive.
- After months of no news from the FBI, the repairman decides to make the hard drive reach Rudy Giuliani.
- Rudy then hands over the hard drive to a Trump supporter, who just quit Fox News, that writes for the NY Post and the “smoking gun” is published.
Take this with the other stuff that's been going on- The FBI has warned that Russian agents were going to release false e-mails to try and influence the election.
- Rudy Giuliani has been confirmed by intelligence agencies to have been compromised by Russian agents
- Metadata of the pdf files indicates that they were created at the time of the impeachment.
- The moron who forged the e-mails managed to spell the Ukrainian’s first name wrong
|
And yet some people still take the claims at face value without verification, I don't understand it at all. More than likely is just Guiliani looking to be relevant and amplifying Russian Intelligence disinformation to distract from getting caught masturbating to Borat's underage daughter. This is just "but Hillary's Emails" 2.0...

"You didn't ask Biden any tough questions."
Well, Biden doesn't really have a lot to answer for as he hasn't been the president for the past 4 years. Plus, questions that are hard for Trump to answer could fill a warehouse.

Well, if he wants to be president, he should be expected to answer the same type of tough questions put to supreme court nominees, such as if he speaks a foreign language, or plays a musical instrument, or why judges wear robes. Really helps legitimize the process.

Trump just bristles so visibly at women who challenge him.
It must be so mentally irreconcilable for him.

To be fair the health care plan he gave her is the same as his answer. Credit for consistency.

He let Chris Wallace and Jonathan Swan make him look like a complete clownshoe, but Leslie Stahl is the one he walks out on.
