Sorry, I didn’t mean he’s better at it. But much better then most of his peers. And it doesn’t appear to handicap him all that much. He is a better D man playing on his off side. I’m not arguing this as a rule. Some players can pull it off in all 3 zones. Most can’t. And some are so good offensively on their offhand the coach lives with the blunders.

Yes, with Brodie it’s a real benefit. Almost every team has to put a LHS on RD but with Brodie it’s not a disadvantage, and at this point he’s so used to it, he struggles when put on the “correct” side.

I was specifically referring to RHS playing LW. The opposite is very common Russian or not, because of numbers.

Russians like to play their off-side because of the shooting angle, combined with the fact that Russian hockey isn't played on the boards like NA hockey is. It is entirely a possession game.

I can’t because I don’t care. That wasn’t my point.
I’m only arguing the geometry and physics of it. You’re worse off over all playing your off wing. It messes up transitions, breakouts, limits passing options, etc... so the fact that most don’t play their off wing has nothing to do with my point. Of course they don’t.
But it’s easier to protect the puck on your backhand, especially with speed.

Renaud Lavoie reporting that Pietrangelo wants to go home, and home is toronto. If we can't get Pietrangelo I hope we can at least try to take advantage of Toronto in a trade. Marner or Nylander?

I love Calgary, it's where I grew up, where I met my wife, where I finished school, but I'm not in a rush to move back. I don't understand the weird narrative that every player wants to go back to where he grew up; especially when, in a lot of cases, these guys left when they were 15-16 to go play junior somewhere else and never really developed an adult life there.

Family is important to some more than others, also, many grow up cheering for their hometown team, dreaming of playing for them when they're older.
But to each their own.
