The thing is it's just not this single game he deserves flak for. He hasn't been great for a couple of seasons . Floats, only pokes at pokes near him, couldn't take a hit to make a play or stop a play and just always drives the zone to early to cherry pick. He's not the kane we thought he would be. I think even Nathan gerbe was stronger on the puck than JG has ever been. He has had a few magical seasons when he was new coming into the leugue but top lines know make a few loaud skate sounds his way and he will dump the puck quicker than Barney stinston and a girl 30+. It was a great run with him for a few seasons but his size is no excuse for his weak physical play. TooToo,Fluery,Gerbe, byron, mangipane, Debrincate,Marchand,Atkinson,Zuccarello, Marchessault,
, Brendan Gallagher, Yanni Gourde, Rocco Grimaldi, Torey Krug and Domi are small guys that can get in the trenches and battle.
Outside of his 99p season last year they all are around that 64 to 70 p average very close to JG averages before last year. He is the man out on that line
Lindholm could be more efficient and effective if he wasn't do the majority of the tougg stuff . Monahan has steadly been getting stronger and making more hits. He had several good hits this game. He sent lots of players to their ass not on big open ice hits bit through pure strength.
Jg needs to go regardless if the Flames win this series or win the cup. Hes 27 , sweet contract to score some nice asset's and he just dosen't fit around what the young (or older) guys bring in now.
