I am kind of thinking that Palpatine seeded the galaxy with some midichlorian / “chosen one” concoction and every so often, under the right conditions, one of these chosen ones pops up. I think she might be just another Anakin.

Considering how badly Disney ####ed up with Rian Johnson, who the heck knows what to expect for Ep IX.

Plot Twist: Luke Skywalker is not real and has been a force projection of Palpatine since 1977 and becomes the new Dark Lord. Also, baby Yoda is a thing in Ep IX to boost toy sales like the Ewoks in Jedi.

I don’t understand how something called “The Rise of Skywalker” can be the end of the Skywalker Saga. Why isn’t it called “The End of Skywalker” instead?

How can something rising be the ending of a story? Won’t people want to know what happens next? If a Skywalker “rises” in this movie, then wouldn’t there be another story to tell after this?

I'm guessing that the "rise" pertains to either Kylo Ren repenting, or Rey adopting the Skywalker name to honour the extinct Skywalkers.

The latter makes more sense in terms of it being a "rise".
Also, I think Kylo will probably die in some sort of Vader-like death (change of heart shortly before sacrificially dying).

I've never known less about an upcoming chapter of a mega film franchise as I have with TROS. in some ways that's kind of been intriguing, but more often I've just felt frustrated that it went down this path. I want to see this movie out of excitement for how it concludes the saga, not out of morbid car crash curiosity.

but I can almost guarantee I'll enjoy it much more than the last one, because the expectations bar has been beaten down to ground level. so...yay!

Same here. The trash that was TLJ has made me not interested enough that I have no interest in seeing discussions and rumours whatsoever. I do, however, have opening night tickets. So I'll be going in totally blind, and hopefully pleasantly surprised.

I agree with what you're saying, I firmly believe that

Rey is linked somehow to Sheev, whether a descendant or a creation of either via the Force or science.



We also know that Star Wars likes to have that moment of temptation, in the PT it was Anakin tempted and accepting and falling, it the OT It was Luke being tempted and denying.



I doubt its going to be Kylo that is tempted, he's already fallen, but I believe that we're due for a redemptive storyling for Kyle and the sacrifice of the last Skywalker.



I also believe that this story ends with the withdraw of the Force from the Galaxy, no Jedi, no Sith or Sith pretenders, Rey goes off after briefly falling into self banishment to ensure no more Force Users are trained because the Force = destruction for people without the Force

Well that sounds exceedingly boring, and effectively makes Ep VII and VIII irrelevant to the story arc.

Maybe, but I would argue that the ending of 8 was made pretty irrelevant

Anakin's sacrifice in the end to fulfill the prophesy of the one who would bring balance to the force was already irrelevant.


If its true that Sheev is alive and well, it takes that further to the ending of ROTJ being meaningless.


True balance in the force, would almost mean the end of the force based wars, and that means there can either be no light users and dark users, or that there is one user not effecting the galaxy that is Grey

Anyway, the balancing of the Force was achieved by Anakin, with 2 on the Light side and 2 on the Dark. And once Yoda died, the ability to look into the future with that level of assurance died with him, so it's kind of the Wild West.

That's why no one predicted the coming of Rian Johnson to the icky brown side of the Force.

"Palpatine was not given a first name in any canonical or "Star Wars Legends" sources until 2014, when the character's first name—Sheev—was revealed in the novel Tarkin, written by James Luceno."

From there I think Reddit picked it up and popularized it on r/prequelmemes

When they reset the whole EU they gave Palpatine the first name of Sheev, which was better then his original first name of Cosinga iirc.

Clearly Anakin didn't balance the force though, because it didn't take long for the galaxy to plunge back into darkness. They even eluded to it with Snoke saying the Darkness rises and the Light rises to meet it, which literally says that it didn't matter what Anakin did the prophesy was bunk because basically the Force is constantly in conflict with each other. Basically Anakin's sacrifice didn't balance the Force, at all, it just sent the Dark Side into retreat for a few years.



The whole 2 vs 2 dark and light side of the force thing isn't balance. Because Frankly there are equivalent levels of power. Palpatine was probably the most powerful Dark side user ever. So when Anakin killed him and died and left Luke and to an extent Leia as the only true expressions of the Force possible so the light side was ascendant, then the Dark side rose with Snoke and the Kylo Ren.



The Force to me can never be in balance unless its one person as the physical manifestation of the Force equal parts dark and light in harmony.


Or similar to the father, daughter and son in TCW.
