To be fair with Trotz, he wasn't available until after the Stanley Cup - and most people would have thought he was a lock to return in Washington.

I mean at this point, Treliving should share the blame if the concerns from the leadership group are valid. He never thought about doing some due diligence and asking past players...leaders on the Hurricanes (or just asking around)? I mean he was literally stealing a coach from the Hurricanes.. comeon now.

It would have made sense to act quickly if it was Boudreau they were after (they fired Gulutzan not 24 hours after he was fired), but certainly I can't explain the rush to sign Peters.

It was pretty common knowledge he wasn't going back to Washington even before the finals started.

But he obviously wasn't available for interviews until later and I doubt he'd have wanted to come to Calgary.
