Well I told myself after the ass whooping we got from the Avs that I was going to take a step back this season. Unfortunately that seems like the right move...

Incorrect. That was the 1986 Flames, who still made the Stanley Cup Finals.

Lots of fire the coach, fire GM, trade core... on this board. I understand why people react this way, but the solution has to come from within the dressing room. The season is not lost, yet.
Need to start playing like a team, from the bottom to the top.

One game at a time. This team needs to realize that they have a bigger target on them after a successful regular season last year.
The team needs to realise its on them. Firing a coach isn't going to make difference.

Coaching in the new age is complex. Maybe this guy is not up to the challenge.

I will say as well

Yes, 13 and 23 got a minus when 55 and 26 were somehow caught up ice.

Wtf, 55 and 26. You need a full length mirror or a good friend.

13 and 23 were each -5 and have been pretty terrible the entire season.

This team will go as far their best players go. So far the season has been pretty brutal. Speaks volumes. If they continue to play like garbage this team has no shot at all at the playoffs.

I don’t dispute that they were and have been bad.

But it takes the whole team working together sometimes to let in a goal.

And sometimes guys take minuses that aren’t on them.

That’s all

Fair enough, lots of blame to go around. It's actually pretty amazing this team isn't something like 5 or 6 games under .500, it feels that bad.

Let's just hope 13 and 23 start playing something remotely close to hockey so the odd brain cramp and goal against doesn't matter.

It might, certainly coaching isn't the only problem at the moment but a fresh leader can do wonders for a team.

Wish they weren't together as a line, wish they weren't loaded up with Lindholm on the top line. That was a major critic of Peters from Canes fans and it's happening here. He's just not switching it up, sticking with the same lines. Gaudreau wth Lindholm, Tkachuk with Monahan, put someone capable of playing with muck on the right sides.

Peters changes up his D pair when needed but rarely truly mixes it up, up front.

This team could have maybe been on the 'slightly unlucky' scale with a few bright spots outperforming expectations and there was so much hope for maybe things turning around and it going on a run at some point.

Instead it's all starting to fall apart and crashing into 'it's all bad' category.

BT put his foot forward for this group and if they fail to show up I think we will see some changes at some point. The two guys on top are showing they don't have what it takes to lead the team when it matters most. Those 2 have been given every opportunity. For the most part Johnny and and Monahan have been fantastic players but they are not leading the way at this point. Interesting point that the coach keeping those 2 together might be a big part of the problem. 2 guys shouldn't be holding the team back, that is a problem.

Sometimes it's tough being a Flames fan. This is a low point, but it happens, You just have to stick with it. There are going to be more down times than there will be good times. It's the nature of the game. Stick it out because when the good times come, it is sooooooo worth it.

Said this at the end of last year and it may be a pipe dream but I would trade Gaudreau and Monahan for Giroux and Couturier if at all possible. I believe that's where Gaudreau wants to end up so why not face the music now?

Wills and Lou were going on about this in the post game. They seem perfectly fine in writing off everything that happened after.

I watched a number of other games this weekend and comparatively the Flames just don’t look good at all.

Flames were dominated

One lucky bounce solves nothing, but they are paid employees

Ever see an oilers broadcast?

Why would Philly do this?

'86 Flames did that. In 89 they didn't even lose 3 in a row.
