What would be the point of this? A NMC clearly supercedes a modified NTC, so why bother?

I think it’d be to cover getting sent to the minors or exposed in an expansion draft but the NMC likely has a provision that excludes trades and that’s why there’s a limited NTC was included.

You are not getting it.. the Oilers will retain 600k on this 1-1 deal... which is effectively saying that to trade Lucic, the Oilers are picking up about $6.4 million dollars --> all they are getting is Neal back hence the connection that his salary can be viewed as higher than 5.75.

Lucic is very excited and eager about joining the Flames Kyper just said. He has a lot to prove and is looking forward to the Flames Kyper said as well. Not sure what the general feeling is but I'm excited for Lucic coming to Calgary, we NEED him to protect Johnny, Monahan etc
Was very disappointed with Neal last year

A full NTC means full trade protection, but can be assigned to the minors, and exposed in an expansion draft.
A full NMC means full trade protection, cannot be assigned to the minors, and not exposed in an expansion draft.
A modified NTC with a NMC means there is a list of teams that can be or not be traded to plus the ability to not be assigned to the minors and not exposed in an expansion draft.

My biggest issue is the Flames should not be doing things the help the greasers out of a problem. Lucic is a boat anchor to that team and I want them to have to swim in it.
Throwing them a potential life preserver is not something a provincial rival should be doing at any point.

Capfriendly shows NMC throughout with an additional modified NTC in the final two.
This would mean that essentially there is an addendum to the NMC, in that the player can be traded, but cannot be waived, placed in the minors, or unprotected in expansion.
