If you bike at all, it can cut down on the amount of time it takes to get to 50km.
However, you need to stay under 10.5km/hr and 5he game needs to be open. We have a mount on our bikes to hold phones and can get 10km in about 75 minutes riding around the neighborhood.
I run a speedometer overlay on screen to go up to but not over the limit.
Some people claim tumbling it in the dryer (not heat), wrapped in a blanket, can get you 5km an hour or so, but have not tried and don't necessarily recommend.
50k dust and 15 rare candy is definitely worth getting though. Good luck!

Step 1 - put phone in unworn sock
Step 2 - bounce phone in sock
Step 3 - profit!

Does that really work? Doesn't it tell where you are? Won't it just know you're in one spot and not moving?

if you have the game closed and adventure sync is on, it doesn't track distance it tracks "steps".

So just shaking a d bouncing the phone didn't add any distance at all.

do you have adventure sync turned on? the newest update disabled it on install. Also much sure you fully close the app and don't leave it running in the background or adventure sync won't work.

Ya, I had nothing open on my phone. Closed all apps and even restarted. I bounced it for half an hour and it made no progress.

Sorry, late to the party re:logging distance. But the easiest way (for me anyways) is the 125m/minute rule.
So the maximum distance the game will log is 125m/min, regardless if the game is on. So if you mark your start location (spin a stop, make a catch) then shut the game off (no plus/gotcha) and start a stopwatch. Then go 0.8km (drive regular speed, don't have roll at pog####### speed). At the 5 min mark, open the game. You get 0.8km of distance. There are reports that you can go as far as 1.2km (with the appropriate time frame of course) but it's inconsistent for me. The 0.8km/5m works well. And you can build it into your commute with just minor inconvenience.
Edit: whooops, komskies got to it before me. same idea.

If anyone wants gifts from Texas, PM me and I'll share a friend's code who is willing to send them.

So recently I've been getting both fast TM's and charge TM's as rewards for beating team leaders in practice battles. It doesn't happen all the time but if you battle the right leader at the right time of day and can win with 1 pokemon without using a shield, that's what I've found so far.
Hope this helps some

So I tried to get into this recently, got up to level 14, then ran out of pokeballs. Went to a few stops and gyms and got a pitance of balls from each, which immediatly disappeared the next time I tried to make a catch. So it seems the only way to progress in this game is to spend money to get the required items, just like every other freemium game out there. I'm kinda surprised Go got as big as it did, I uninstalled it immediately after hitting that paywall
