Im hoping the Flames go big game hunting for Hall and then move Lindholm to C
Gaudreau - Monahan
T. Hall - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund
Three pairs that start 3 really good lines. Mix and match RWs as needed with whatever is left afrer acquiring Hall.
Plus you can load up one or two lines from time to time.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
T. Hall - Backlund - Tkachuk

Did You Know? Among the Top 20 goal scorers in the regular season, just 5 remain in the 2019 #StanleyCup Playoffs (Atkinson, MacKinnon, Pastrnak, Pavelski & Marchand).

But Steinberg is suggesting the Flames negotiate against themselves. The Wild are (allegedly) the ones pursuing this. If you're the Flames, and you still want Zucker on this roster, why include the 1st when its the Wild who seem more interested in moving Zucker?
If you look for a car and the dealer says its $25,000 and you say no thanks, if they call you back in a few months trying to sell you that same car why would you pay them their same asking price?

If the Wild want to move Zucker they will have more than one team interested and will easily get a 1st IMO.
The guy has four 20+ goal seasons recently out of of 5 and 33 goals last season. He's also in his prime and has term left on a decent contract.

Maybe. But in the scenario Steinberg presented, they are the ones contacting the Flames. I'm just zeroing in on that. Just irked me I guess.

OK, and exactly what are you giving up to get Hall because any of the pieces needed are included in your lines.

I like Zucker but the 33 goal season is a real outlier for him.

I missed what happened with Zucker.
Did the Wild not file the paperwork on time?
What was the rumoured deal?

Probably because they came close to doing a deal for a 1st and Frolik.
The price hasn't suddenly gone down.

Marner is not being traded. Especially for that package.

Toronto is not going to make any trades.
They have now lost to Boston 3 times just like Washington did to Pittsburgh. They know from reading CP, as soon as they beat Boston they will win the cup, because that's what happened in Washington.
Stop suggesting trades and look at what happened in Washington people.

I guess we just discount all multiple 20 goal scorers now because James Neal had a dud of a season amirite?

The price for a deadline deal is going to be different than a summer deal. Treliving can argue that Zucker, while a nice piece as an add on, is not a focus given the PO results.

Or we can just discount multiole 20 goal scorers who have never cracked 50 points more than once.. you know, so when they can't score goals, they aren't completely useless?
Who do you think are going to be his playmaking linemates? Tkachuk and Backund are not those playmakers.

If we're going to add a forward to our top six I certainly hope it's not someone who's 5'11 and 180 pounds. We don't need a Zucker, we have everything he brings and then some in Lindholm.
What is there in Zucker's game in comparison to Frolik's that indicates he's worth a 26 overall pick? That's still an area of the draft that as recently as 2017 produced players like Henri Jokiharju, Ryan Poehling, Nic Hague, Conor Timmins, Eeli Tolvanen and Morgan Frost.
Zucker does have term but I don't think that's necessarily a good thing in his case.
