Someone mentioned a “little brother syndrome” with Edmonton. This is exactly it! It even feels like their fans and media fanboys like Shannon are part of it. Shannon suggesting that the flames have the advantage of teams taking them lightly because they are so focused on facing McDavid up north... it’s hilarious! It almost feels like a veiled attempt at asking the flames to share some of their points with the the lowly oilers.
“Calgary, share with your slow-witted brother... he doesn’t have many points and you have so many.”

Thousands of players have never asked for a trade out of Edmonton.
You can't want out of Edmonton if you never went there to begin with.

Got drunk with Todd Nelsons uncle during new years eve. Sounds pretty similar to what he said about Todd's time in Edmonton. Party Party Party.

I never said the Leafs were paying his salary. I basically said he’s playing there for exposure, which the Leafs have used to their advantage. He’s also close to home.

Is that false?

I agree... but we're not delusional enough to buy that players on the Flames never ask for one. I'd think we only hear about the biggest players and/or the more controversial ones.

They're the only ones you should hear about because they're the only ones that should have the ability to ask for trades.

Plumbers and pluggers dont get NTCs because they're replaceable.

If a 4th line winger 'demands a trade' you ship him to the AHL and immediately fill his spot from within.

Yes - I get your point... but my point is that Ryan Strome or Drake Caggiula (for example) might have requested a trade out of Edmonton, we just don't know that. Even Doug Hamilton out of here, I doubt it, but we just don't know.

Anyone have a handle on how the Sekera thing will shake down?
They can no longer be over the cap by his salary (5.5M), but do they need to now move $5.5M to get back under?

Erik Cole wanted a trade. So did David Perron. Like Pronger, both months within signing or landing there, as grand promises were made and not kept by Lowe and the knowledge that they made a terrible mistake.
