What a glorious response to what was a brutal post from the Oilers.
So Edmonton spends the whole weekend whining that the big bad Flames hit their boys and roughed them up, and the refs didn't save them. Then follow that up by posting a gif of a clearly overzealous hit that should have warranted a roughing call - two days after a loss!
There is no limit to their ineptitude. Surely to God they are just trolling us all at this point.

Over the last decade...
Oilers have 9 top 10 picks. Flames have 3.
Oilers have 4 first overalls. Flames have none.
Oilers have 6 top 5 picks. Flames have 1.

I just blows my mind that a successful businessman like Katz is letting a bunch of monkeys run his beloved Oilers into the ground like this. Just incomprehensible to me that a guy that earned enough money to buy a sports franchise has not seen the need to upgrade the head of that organization after watching this staggering amount of failure.
How is Lowe skating by every season without being fired? My own father would fire me if I sucked that bad at a job he's bequeathed me, and it sure as F wouldn't have taken this long, either. I simply don't get it. And speaking of family, I doubt Katz's son is even an Oilers fan. I bet he's embarrassed that his dad owns the franchise.
It's just so weird. Katz buys the Oilers because he loved them growing up. Lets one of his heros run it for awhile, but that guy clearly has no clue about winning, contrary to his press conferences. Give him another try or two, but at what point do you literally kick in the door to his office, grab him by the collar and toss him out the window?
How long can this possibly go on? How long will Katz let these people run his franchise? This is a mystery that I cannot wrap my head around. If I bought the Flames and let Iginla and Kiprusoff do this for over a decade, I'd have to kick my own ass.
So embarrassing. So unbelievable. Both business and hockey-wise.

Could you imagine what it would be like for Oilers fans if Koskinen came out tonight and got lit up? The angst would be ridiculous. The timing could not be better. The break would be unbearable as they’d have nine days to worry about it.

Daryl Katz: OBC was founded on the belief that Outside managers could not be trusted with with the Oilers legacy. What we did not realize was that if you tried to take that freedom, they resist. The last decade has taught us much. Oiler fans needed to surrender thier hope willingly. After the purchase of the Oilers, The OBC initiative was founded, and I was elated. The new OBC grew, a beautiful parasite inside the franchise. For 10 years, the OBC has been secretly destroying the Oilers, creating fan dis-illusionment. And when fate did not cooperate, history was changed (Hall trade, Yak and Poolparty picks). And once the fan disillusionment reaches a peak and all hope is lost, the parasite will germinate and burst forth and Edmonton fans will accept it as a great move."
Daryl Katz: bad hockey decisions will happen. the OBC created a hockey franchise so terrible that Oiler fans are finally ready to sacrifice its common sense for hope. Once the purification process is complete, My Sons' New World Order will arise. We won, Oiler fans. Your unhappiness amounts to the same as your life, a zero sum!

It’s Edmonton. These will be hoarded and put out on special occasions in the “nice bathroom” when company comes over.
