There’s times where you can visibly see players gasping for air and looking down in disbelief as they prepare to rush down the ice for a back check. Perhaps in that case, they were hoping to catch the Lightning exhausted and unable to make a change
Like Gio on the backcheck in OT? It almost looked like he was doggin' it if I didn't know better.

Love his game though.
That 'Stache is the source of his power, channelling the Great Lanny MacDonald. He has the #9 on his jersey. This is no coincidence. The hockey gods smile on him. This is the year of "Slam Bennett - Prodigal Power Forward." One does not simply look at his moustache and think: "that thing is awful."

Looks like a curling broom on his upper lip.

But yeah if he keeps playing the way he does he can shave it off in June.

Yup, that scenario stands out in my mind. It was like he stopped for a second and thought “**** my life” and then put the jets back on

He'd been out for a really long time and was totally gassed there. He managed to win the puck back and immediately headed for the bench.

This has gone almost completely unnoticed but was an amazing play by Gio. Was completely gasses so what he did was conserve energy and at the last moment turned on the jets and broke up the play.

I think he was at the end of his shift, his legs probably felt like they weighed 200 pounds each.

The combination of avatar, post and username made me crack up pretty hard, tbh
