There never was a good Gulutzan, regardless of location. He was always a no-mind buffoon, trying to play checkers while everyone else was playing chess.

Yeah nah, there are plenty of examples of shocking reffing in rugby, trouble with the breakdown, trouble with the tackle, too much involvement of the TMO.
The response from players is generally respectful.

I just think they generally get calls right and I like the two official system where there's a guy upstairs who talks to the guy on the field.
Good lord that blue line is terrible. A middle pair getting the top minutes, then a who's who of AHL talent. Even Hitchcock can't make that work, can he?
I can't believe Benning is still on the team. Every team in the league has a 7th & 8th D that's way better and I'm sure a competent GM could get one for a late pick.
Good god, that lineup is awful. Especially on D. Hopefully the Blues are fired up tonight after getting spanked by the Flames.
Not to mention getting called out by coach Craig Berube (questioned their pride and professionalism). I think we're going to see an inspired Blues team tonight.

After their 4th 1st overall pick, and it being McDavid, I thought the other GM's would hand the Oilers a boat anchor before they would ever hand them a life preserver.
This might be the case. A late round pick might be the price for a competent defenceman for, oh let's say Dallas or Columbus.
It would not surprise me if it is a much higher price for the Lottery Champs.
The Draisatl contract didn't help their case either.
