Last year Rychel was .68 ppg in the AHL, Hathaway 1.05 ppg.

Yeah but hathaway is 26 and Rychel is only 23. Also hathaway only has 26 points in 99 nhl games while rychel has 19 in 41. Hardly inspiring numbers by rychel but better than garnet at this level.

Hathaway has major consistently issues. He looks good in spurts but his style is a hard one to play. Also I would take his ahl numbers with a grain of salt. He has had some pretty decent linemates along the way. Hathaway is probably better suited as a 13th forward. Rychel, we shall see. I haven't seen him play or heard much about him since his draft. I do like the size though.

That is an incredibly specific bet. There's no way you could possibly win this one, so I'll take that bet. This is all about odds calculations for me. What should we wager?

Probably would've lost him on waivers by now.

I know what they meant, but I can't help but read that as them judging the decision.

Rychel was always going to be here at some point. He's been linked here since his draft year, no?

Both Vancouver trades were always about adding more team control for players that didn't seem to fit and were waiver eligible.
They took a gamble on Shinkaruk and it didn't pan .. now both he and Rychel are waiver risked to go down.
The other was the Baertschi trade that looks to be be working out just fine.

Oh yeah, well Hathaway will end up working at a McDonalds sweeping up and asking the teenage kids where the cool parties are at this weekend.

Oh brother! Not a fan of this at all, hopefully I’m proven wrong but have never been a fan from all the years I watched him in Windsor.

He's got a better shot at contributing than Shinkaruk, for a number of reasons.
