There is risk here but I don't think it would necessarily be a bad move. While he played 31.42% with Draisaitl and McDavid last year and you can assume his numbers were inflated by that, he still had great numbers in New Jersey. He was a +4.2 CF% and +4.1% FF% with them. It was only 17 games, but he might actually be a legitimately good player.
Also, his goals above replacement is 66 compared to Neal's 63.

If the Flames wanted Reaves, I think they get a better player who fills the same role to an extent. So really if it was down to those 2 to determine who polices the ice I think they get the better one.

I agree in that if we bring in Maroon that Brouwer has to go.

For sure. But they get a 40 point player in exchange for that, in addition to the toughness.

Lebrun is Treliving’s favorite insider he breaks all the Flames stuff a few days in advance.

I actually think Maroon the player is something team could really use and be successful with.
However the contract that he'd realistically be signed to is more likely than not to be something we'll have to continually try to justify.

13 points in 17 games... you’re right. Didn’t seem to play with Hall much either.

Trade '19 1st, '20 2nd and Jankowski for R.O.R.
Lose Stone and Brouwer for cap space
Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-R.O.R.-Maroon
Bennett-Backlund-Frolik
Foo-Ryan-Czarnik
Giordano-Brodie
Hanafin-Hamonic
Anderson-Kulak
Prout
No clue if that would work with the cap, but I like it lol

I would be okay if he signs the same deal as Ryan.
Then, i would like to see Brouwer shipped out.

40 pt player when playing mostly with mcdavid. We dont need another slow player. If we can get a good contract and get rid of brouwer then this is okay but i dont think we can get rid of brouwer

Did well with the Devils too
I like it. Size and some skill. Nothing wrong with it
More flexibility
