Could be an interesting couple of weeks in the coaching circles. After we went the full season without one coach being fired, we get our first of the offseason less than 6 hours after the team's final game ended.
If Montreal fires Julien, would Vigneault have any interest in going back there?
How about Ottawa if they dump Boucher? He is a former Olympiques player and started his NHL coaching career as an assistant with the expansion Senators. He also lives in Gatineau in the offseason. Of course, Melnyk is notoriously cheap, and Vigneault won't be.
I assume Vigneault will have his choice of multiple offers, so I wouldn't bet on him signing somewhere quickly.
If Montreal does fire Julien, I wouldn't be surprised to see him land in Edmonton with his former Bruins boss.

Really didn't think they would let AV go. That said Tre best be calling and owners best be poneying up $4 + million. ( not convinced owners would pay this for a coach)

He was a great coach when the Flames used to play against the Canucks. Always felt he gave them a bit of an edge. Would have zero problems at all with him as a choice for next head coach.

Not that I'm not hoping for a coach of AB's calibre to come to the Flames, but some people are going to experience some déjà vu if AV comes into the season and has some guy like Hathaway or Lazar playing 18 minutes a night because he has his favorites.

I don't think AV is a top tier coach like Laviolette, Quenneville, or Cooper but I would gladly welcome him as he's probably our best option on the market.
BT would have to admit Glen needs to go, first.
