In any case, I see no reason why a player who scored 19 goals as a 22-year-old in Chicago, where he was not a top-six forward, should need a top-six role to come near that mark again in his career. I did word it poorly, I see where I did that now.
His 19 goals resulted from playing a fair bit in the top 6.
Not many players get 19 ES goals playing in the bottom 6, it’s generally not a sustainable pace.
Like all things, I guess we shall see. I expect he’ll have more trouble maintaining premium ice time in Nashville, when he couldn’t do so in Chicago, where a top 6 role was there for the taking.
