Pretty much every game released for Wii right now is a Gamecube port. That's the only reason the graphics don't look spectacular.

DIAF! I just want to go Wii

I walked into Futureshop in Red Deer at 10am, lined up for a few minutes, and walked out with a Wii, no problem. I didn't think that it would be that easy. I could also have picked up a PS3. They had 3 in stock and only sold one by the time I got to the front.

Man I should've preordered. Are there any other stores I should try checking?

A lot of Zellers had them this morning apparently. There was 6 at the Market Mall location... I was 8th there (0/2 now).
Every place I've called says they don't know when they're getting them.

I asked at Future shop in Shawnessy yesterday about another shipment (I'm looking for extra controllers) and they told me they would be getting about 12-15 units for sale on Saturday. They also said they expect to sell the shipment within minutes of opening the store. The woman I spoke with said she either gets asked on the floor or takes a phone call asking about Wii shipments every 10 minutes or so for the time she is there. Still plenty of demand apparently.

Most (if not all) EB Games in Calgary got some Wii's today and they're all sold out. One guy who works at the Market Mall EB told me they know exactly when their shipments are coming in, but they can't tell people until the day of (to avoid lines I'm assuming) so I doubt they'll be getting anymore until next Saturday.

I think you mean Resident Evil 4... RE3 was a PSX port.
Here's a FACT though: Zelda is THE best game released in the last... six or seven years. Go buy it. And a Wii.

Ok, so I have a bit of a beef with EB games. Maybe I'm being unreasonable, so please let me know if I am. I decided I want to get one of these things, so I went to all the usual stores this morning, including EB games in south centre. I was there at opening time, went in and was told they were sold out and would not be getting any in till mid next week. I thought this was weird considering there was a massive Nintendo box beside the checkout counter. I though it may be empty or something like that, so I just left.
I come on here and see the EB games did in fact sell a whole bunch today. I call up South Centre just now and they said yes they did sell a whole bunch today, but were now sold out. I told them that I was there at 10 am and was told that they would not be getting any in for a number of days, and had not had any if for a few days. She then gave me some song and dance about how they did not know what was in the big huge Nintendo box at the time. Why would they not have let me buy one first thing in the morning, and then release them in the afternoon? I'm not that upset, more just puzzled as to why stores would do that. Anyone have any idea?

I wonder if it was the same stupid set of kids that were working when I was there. The person in front of me in line was buying 2 Wii's; her cell phone rang and after talking for a second she tells her husband that "our 2 others sold"... so she immediately asks if she could buy another. There was a girl serving them and she said "ok" despite a comment from her fellow employee that they should only be selling one system per customer. So the couple walks out with 3 of the remaining 4 systems in the store... just to sell them on eBay.
I was actually just in line for more controllers and was luckily able to get 2 more to complete my set of 4.
But I really despise the people like the ones that were in front of me in line. Hopefully supply catches up and there's not kids going without because of greedy people like that.

Drive up to Red Deer, kermit. Phone Red Deer's Futureshop, find out when the next shipment is coming in and then just get here for opening time. (10am). You should get one.

A game tape of the Oilers back to back 6-2 loses to Anaheim and Phoenix will do the trick.

How are people enjoying their PS3s?
It seemed before the systems came out all the talk was about PS3 on this board. Now that they're released all the talk is about the Wii.

I'm guessing the reason is people were actually able to buy and play the Wii.

Just FYI. I received an email from BestBuy and it says "Wii - Next stock released Friday Dec.8"
(It also says the same thing for PS3)
