I remember watching that hit in the Mem Cup. I enjoyed then. I still enjoy it now.

This does not describe the game I watched.

Yes, there were a few sloppy sections, but there was no point in the game where Vancouver looked particulArly dominant, and there were quite a few where the Flames did.

My eye test differed greatly. Flames were playing hard, defensively looked solid. Five on five they were pretty dominant but the losing of the special teams battle and the lingering impact on momentum made things even out.

They also were over passing on the first 2 offensively. You could tell something was said before the 3rd as they just starting shooting and getting pucks to the net more.

Maybe it's just me, but that after hours seemed invasive. That said, I hope he shines just because of it.

Both teams looked really, really bad for long portions of the game IMO, until the 3rd period.

tons of respect for Travis Hamonic, that's for sure...

He's spoken on this topic before, so its not new territory... i would guess that CBC would have given him the broad outlines about what they were going to interview him on...

Amazing to see how much he's giving back to the community.

Hamonic’s Dad died when he was 10 and they showed home movies of him and his family right after his dad died. It was a lot of talk about his difficulty dealing with the grief. Clearly planned ahead of time to discuss a difficult topic.

Harmonic is a men among men after seeing everything he does.

We have a ton of guys on the team with special projects and their desires to give back.

Also note after hours are usually up on YouTube. This one was a must watch.

Ok I'm going to do a shot of meds and head to bed.

Before I do, I'd like to eat some CP crow. After the Philly game, with a back to back in TO/MTL then 3rd game in 4, I predicted the flames would only come out with 1 out of a possible 6 points.

I seriously think we have witnessed a turning point with this team this week. 5 out 6 possible points against teams that are all playing well, with travel and back to back excuses.

Thank you Flames, you have restored some faith from this fan.

Vancouver looked excellent defensively, and didn't have the talent to do much more than that. They played as perfect a game as they could, and deserved to be up 2-1 when the score was 2-1.

Flames had another gear and were CLEARLY better in the latter parts of the third than they were the rest of the game.

If the Flames had not found that other gear, they don't even tie it up.

Credit to Vancouver for clogging to neutral zone. They looked like they were content to sit on that 1 goal lead from before they even had the lead. However, sitting back and clogging stuff up does not mean they controlled the play. The Canucks jammed up the Flames but the Flames still had the momentum for most of that game. I don't remember any instance where it felt like the Flames were hanging on.

That sure is an awesome amount of Canuck salt in the ATL. You'd think rain every day would wash some of that down.

If I'm being honest I was thinking the same thing.

I am loving Hathaway, and I think he has added that extra jam to the third line. Jagr is a legend but I don't know if he would have had the energy or speed to keep up with that sequence that led to the goal or even all night, that line felt relentless.

Totally appreciate how the Bennett goal was vintage Jagr, but I also noticed how Hrudy mentioned all he though of Hathaway was a guy who could hit without any idea of his skill game. Gave me Ferland déjà-vu for exactly what people said about Ferland. First time this season I have felt comfortable with three legitimate scoring lines.

As a "Stajan booster" I think it's over. Hit the press box, send Freddie down and run Brower-Lazar-Jagr as a fourth line. Little speed, lots of skill and $4.5 million.
