Exactly. Glass was signed because no one deserved to take his spot in camp or preseason. Flames management were pretty honest in saying that they were pretty disappointed that no one stepped up to take the job away from him. Good on Hathaway for responding the right way and earning his spot now, but the spot was there for him to start the year and he didn't take it. Let's hope he doesn't make that mistake again

So strange watching Monahan sometimes... He must have one of the top 5 wrist shots in the league to be able to score the way he does. Not talking about the OT goal but in general, I mean I've seen him shoot his way out of a phonebooth. I know he doesn't have the strength of shot that Ovi or Stamkos have but he can really pick a corner, and he seems to do it so quietly. How boring.

That Shaw screw up during the Flames games a few days ago was a blessing in disguise. Watching the game is way better using alternative methods, if you know what I mean *wink* ...you know *wink* ...ILLEGAL STREAM *wink wink*.

Not exactly true. Jankowski beat Stajan out of a spot and didn't get it because 4th line center wasn't a good fit for his development point and skillset. Jankowski's spot wasn't open until Bennett moved back to the wing.
Glass was signed because he was the best of the winger auditions in camp.

Brouwer had a great game tonight. Give credit where credit is due.
This is why I feel we would get more offense by moving Tkachuk off the the 3M line. Backlund and Frolik run the show so they can hide Brouwer's warts and his defensive game is not bad. Tkachuk plays with Janko and Bennett and dominate. What to do with Jagr?Maybe he plays on the second line and Brouwer goes back to the fourth line. Hathaway has done something in 2 games that Brother Hamilton, Lazar, and Stajan have not be able to do....score.
