It's like if Safeway had a 2 for 1 sale on expired milk. Who cares if it's 2 for 1 if it's rotten?

Why not take Shinkaruk and flip him...at the very least a 3rd rd pick for nothing.

Why do you think Shinkaruk is worth a 3rd? Maybe his worth to other teams is, nothing?

Schlemko and Reinhart? These are odd moves.

Who says he's worth that? He's waiver eligible. Do scouts believe he'll definitely make an NHL team next year? If not then you can get him for free right before the season. Why trade a 3rd for something you could get for free?

Schlemko has actually be quite good for San Jose - was always probably him or Dillion being selected.

Defensemen and centres are worth the most in trade and there were a lot better defensemen exposed than centres. So taking the most defensemen possible was a logical and predictable move from Vegas

Forgot about waivers. But still, whether it's Shinkaruk or Kulak or someone else, you can get a 3rd, 4th or 5th for somebody, or plug a position in your farm. Zero reason to not get another asset.

I guess Vegas does need someone to take tickets at the door.

Oiler fans are going to be pissed because they thought Vegas would be jumping to take Poulliot off of their hands.

Legit NHL defensemen are worth more than guys like Shinkaruk or Kulak. If they can sign Engelland then IMO he was clearly than most valuable player we left exposed.

Based on the number of D-men picked, my guess it's going to be either Stajan or Brouwer going to VGK

Reports are that it is Deryk Engelland.

Why not Engelland + another asset? Or are you that worried that the other 30 teams are going to be banging down his door to sign him on July 1?

I think it's disgusting that this stuff is out there before tonight. It should not be part of the event if everyone knows who was picked.
