Win this game and this becomes a different series. Tired of seeing all this negativity in the thread, Flames haven't played their best but this series easily could be 2-0 for the Flames. Ducks out played the Flames in game 1, Flames outplayed the ducks in game 2. This is sport and it's not over till it's over and people seem to be so overly negative about something that is supposed to be enjoyable! Will they come back? Maybe, maybe not but it's our job as fans to continue to support even if there's only a 1% chance. Keep the faith!! Go Flames Go!!!!!

I'm pretty reliable about this.
Sometimes I'll even boo and my friend will have to point out that we're on the PP, not the PK.

I'll be at the game today. If the refs screw the Flames over again I will be pelting my Budweiser red glass at them for the good of the team. I'll risk a ban and criminal charges for the good of CP and Flames nation. Hopefully the refs are reading this thread to put a scare in them.

Bad idea - regardless of how upset you are. That is the risk of these type of promos at a sporting event - hopefully fans will control themselves.

If anything, you should make your way to the press boxes and chuck it at the officiating supervisor, Don Van Massenhoven. Goaltender interference this!

If the Flames win tonight and make it convincing then I have a really good feeling about the series.
This series really should be tied right now. Some bad goals and penalties in game 2 made the series 0-2 and simply looking at that record without considering how it got to be that way can be depressing. Play the same way in game 3 without the soft, back breaker goals and we've got a 1-2 series with the Ducks running scared.

analytics certainly suggest the Flames need to just keep doing what they're doing five on five other than discipline of course.
Flames are ...
6th in 5 on 5 corsi at 50.5% (Ducks 11th)
8th in 5 on 5 corsi score and venue adjusted 50.39% (Ducks 9th)
3rd in 5 on 5 scoring chances 57.1% (Ducks 14th)
2nd in 5 on 5 scoring chances score and venue adjusted 58.3% (Ducks 15th)

The NHL takes the Flames and their fans for granted...penalties, goal/non-goal calls, suspensions ect.
Flames always have the book thrown at them
there will be hell to pay if it happens yet again on home ice

To be fair, the rankings aren't so useful, and in a 7 game series (or more to the point the two game sample these stats are from), 1% of corsi differential is basically nothing. It can be easily overwhelmed by shooting percentage. It just tells you these are very close games in terms of flow at even strength.
The scoring chance numbers are interesting though; if they can keep that margin up around 60-40 it would take some combination of bad luck, special teams delta, and being noticeably out-goaltended to lose under those circumstances. Overall the last two have gone the Ducks' way so far, of course.

I think the Flames win handily tonight. 5-2 victory.

Flames at 5.8% shooting percentage all situations and 1.89% five on five.

Was just kidding, I'm sitting too high up to be able to make a single throw on to the ice. Plus, I want to keep that red light.
