Yeah I think it was more of a "hey i don't think I'm retiring" and also a lot of not messing with the big atmosphere on an important game for both teams.
The media is blowing it up a bit too much, I would take it with a grain of salt. Jarome's a true professional and never was much for that kind of spotlight. Just remember when his Bruins teammates had to force him to take a lap when he first came back.
Highly doubt it has anything to do with animosity.

tbh my respect for Iginla skyrocketed again today when he fought Engelland. Baffles my mind that some people would call him a goon for it, he simply stood up for his teammates and fought a really tough opponent. Time has had a lot of effect on Iginla, but the heart and passion's still there. If all of his teammates (and especially the so-called "leaders" of that team) had that kind of fire in them, maybe they'd be a playoff team.

100%, he knew that in order to make a statement and push his team, he had to challenge our biggest toughest dude on our team.

They're going to have to get accustomed to playoff hockey at some point. May as well be now

Allllllll of this could be avoided if Doughty dropped the gloves....still cant get over how much of a wuss he is. How can some of his hockey peers not think so too...

I'd like to see Ferland come out and put an end to these suitcase AHL players using the Tkachuk scenario to earn a spot on this soft team

I disagree. Doughty, a number 1 defenceman, going off for 5 minutes would be playing into the flames' hand. He's not dumb.

They have been playing a number of games now at a playoff level intensity. I personally found period 1 slow and disjointed. They need to skate more, and they will be fine.

Ha. Ha. Took the referee a while to figure out the Kings had 8 players on the ice.
