Because your post is hilarious. I can see it as an actual Trump tweet.

It's easy to get a confirmation when you're totally unqualified, just pay everyone off. Literally everyone.

At least with Devos in we can now stop worrying about kids getting hurt in grizzly bear attacks in schools in suburban Los Angeles. We can all take a deep breath now.

The positive side to this is that Canadian children will have a significant intellectual advantage over American children.
Look forward 30 years, birth rates to skyrocket, gays to secured back into America's closets, and the question: "What is a dinosaur?" to be the thrilling final question on "Who wants to win 100 Trump credits?"

Make America great Again, like it was in the 19th century.
Trump is really making that country regress.
I guess the other good thing is, Health Care and Education will be completely fkd up by the next election.

Because I don't think it would be taken in the spirit I intended, and likely just cause more piling on against me, and therefore distract from the topic.

I feel like those who had her donate to them should have to disclose it as well as abstain from the vote.

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) blasted Betsy DeVos, President Trump's pick to lead the Department of Education, as Democrats staged a late-night protest over her nomination.
"During her hearing, Ms. DeVos proved beyond a shadow of a doubt not only that her ideology is fundamentally incompatible with the mission of the Department of Education, but that she is fundamentally incompetent to be its leader," Franken said Monday from the Senate floor.
"This is not a job for amateurs," the former "Saturday Night Live" comedian added.
Democrats are staging a 24-hour protest over DeVos's nomination ahead of the final vote expected to take place at noon Tuesday.
Franken pointed to DeVos's lack of experience in public education, her unfamiliarity with testing and her support for school vouchers —which he argued don't help low-income students — as a few of the myriad of reasons he will oppose her.
Franken said DeVos was "unable to answer basic questions" during her confirmation hearing.
"She wasn't reluctant to declare her opinion. She wasn't trying to strike a middle ground. She did not know what I was talking about," he said.
He called it "one of the most embarrassing scenes" he's seen since joining the Senate.

What's next, innocent until proven guilty? Does he understand where that kind of radicalism might lead?

You know when someone does something mildly annoying, then someone else's response is so over the top that they make themselves look like the big jerk?
I'm trying to teach that to my 7 year old.

Hmm, I actually read that very diffferently.
For example the point about female presidents is IMO not that these kinds of liberals want a whole string of female presidents to balance out the historical scale. The point is that they don't pretend that one or even several female presidents would suddenly end gender inequality.
The Ruth Ginsburg quote about nine female judges is not a point about the liberals wanting nine female judges, but that it's not actually about the number of female judges.
So it's not that progressives think diversity and equality are irrelevant, it's just that they're very far removed from the actual battles being fought right now.
When for example the black community is still at a point where they're fighting for a right to not get shot to death by the police or imprisoned, actual racial equality is so far behing the horizon it's pretty irrelevant to talk about it.
"I’m not fighting for diversity. I’m not fighting for tolerance. I’m fighting to overturn horrific systems of dehumanizing oppression."
(For the record, I don't really agree with that view, I'm just explaining how I understood the text.)

This is opposed to the liberal values of tolerance, fairness, individualism, and social support based on individual need.

Funnily enough, you are here doing almost exactly what the writer is essentially calling BS on.
So you don't think they're "real liberals", but so what? This person is clearly capable of judging for himself whether or not he's a liberal. Unless you yourself identify as a progressive liberal and want to specifically opt out of what the writer is saying here, you implying that they're not really following liberal values is completely irrelevant.

The strongest part, and an argument I like to use on occastion, is that conservative morality is too often relativism masquerading as objective morality.

That's actually better put than the article does it

She doesn't have a clue about public schools. Couldn't have picked someone more qualified.
Quote:
Sanders was blunt: “Do you think that if your family had not made hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions to the Republican Party that you would be sitting here today?” he asked.
DeVos paused. “I do think there would be that possibility,” she said. “I have been working hard to be a voice for students and to empower parents to make decisions on behalf of their children, primarily low-income children.”
DeVos’s family has given $2.7 million to Republican candidates in the 2016 presidential cycle alone, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. As the Washington Post has explained, those donations look crucial to DeVos’s selection as education secretary — especially since she has never taught in a school environment, never attended a public school, and never sent her own children to a public school.
