I'd consider her job more managerial than practical, so probably.

Being hugely overweight is a health problem and a health minister should exemplify healthiness. It's like if the environment minister drove a 1984 turbodiesel Mercedes or something. You kind of need to practice what you preach.

Depends. Are they the face of healthcare? And how many doctors actually smoke? I doubt your premise.

Wow. I am speechless. Especially when it comes to someone's health that no one her knows anything about.

You can certainly debate how offensive it is, but I don't believe it was a mistake on their part. Intentional 'clever' headline for sure.

And if you had an overweight doctor, are you really going to look at them without judgment when they tell you your cholesterol is high?

You're speechless because I said being hugely overweight is not healthy?

Depends? So where is the line of hypocrisy then? Nurse? Family Doctor? Surgeon? Head of Medicine at a Hospital? Or just her?

You are insinuating she isn't qualified for the job because of her weight. Read what you wrote 1000 times and tell me that's not what comes across.

Well depends what you are addicted to. Coffee? Probably. Hallucinogens? Probably not.

I mean, the US just elected a non-politician to be their top politician, so who says we can't have an overweight health minister?

Drs used to advise patients that smoking was good for you.

You can see pretty clearly that she is obese, probably borderline mobidly so. Don't need medical records to show that.

Alberta Health needs to be broke down by someone from the outside! She's just the lady to do it, and all you establishment punks just can't stand the thought of a non-insider running things around here!

When did fat shaming go out of style? Shouldn't we be encouraged to make healthy lifestyle choices? If someone was smoking 5 packs a day, wouldn't we be able to criticise them for making a bad choice and burdening the health care system?
