I asked you before when he said it, and you didn't reply. Please show me where he said that because I don't recall it.

Of all the Flames problems last year Hamilton was not the single reason they missed playoffs. Simply put, replacing Hamilton with Trouba still doesn't mean the Flames make playoffs.

I completely agree with you. Nothing drives me more crazy than seeing 3 forwards clustered together trying to break over the blueline.

There is improvement in Hamilton defense, but a very mild improvement which was all that was needed towards the end of last year. With Trouba, I am extremely confident we would have made the playoffs last year.
Gio only went -5 last year in October when he was paired up with Dougie to begin the season. I don't remember when they got paired back up but Brodie was back October 28th. Trouba would not have made the Flames playoff chances any higher.

It was on the HNIC broadcast. (Saturday) He also brought up how extremely bad his gameplay was throughout the start of last season. It really was that horrendous.

Much as we all know Calgary is better than Winnipeg in every way, an American won't see it that way. If Trouba does not want to be in Winnipeg, he won't want to be in Calgary. It's that simple.

Also, par, Hamilton and a first for Trouba? dude, just back away from the keyboard.

As a side note, from my experience and IMO, when players get traded from the eastern conference to the western conference, it takes them a lot longer to adjust and start putting up points. Where on the opposite, players from the western conference traded to the east, do well right away. The east seems to be more run and gun and the west is more physical.

I flat out don't believe you. Your comment was that he said Hamilton was the reason they didn't make playoffs.

Saying he had a poor start to the season is not the same thing. I am not disputing the fact that he didn't play well to start the year.

Maybe Trouba doesn't want to be in Winnipeg because they have an internal cap and will never be cup contenders?

Regardless it just seems silly to say if he doesn't want to play in Winnipeg he wouldn't want to play in Calgary. That's like saying if he doesn't want to play in Siberia he wouldn't want to play in Calgary.

Hrudey DID NOT say that Hamilton was the reason they missed the playoffs.

This crap needs to stop.

What i believe is happening on CP right now is that we gave up a considerable amount to acquire hamilton, that posters feel the need to defend him. Even though if we were to hook up every poster to a lie detector and ask them "have you been disappointed with dougie hamiltons play?" They would answer "no". And thenlie detector would find it to be a lie. People cant just admit they have been disappointed with him and his play

Which makes Hamilton's 43 points last year all the more impressive

when Trouba signs his bridge deal 2.5-3M x 2 with the Jets does that change your thoughts about trading Hamilton for him?

I don't think that Hamilton would be high on the Flames wish list as Morrissey and Enstrom are their similar style (more offense than defense) d-men LH d-men. They would be looking for a defensively strong mobile LH d-man to baby-sit (cover for) Byfuglien. Hamilton needs a baby-sitter himself so...

For example, when i got the tsn app notification that we acquired hamilton i was ecstatic! Cant say i feel the same way now. I expected much more thus far out of him. Gope he proves me wrong. And the age thing isnt a good excuse. Hes been fully grown physically for half a decadw at least now and mentally he has played in the nhl for a while as well.

And I will be quoting every one of your dumb ass posts next week when you look like an even bigger idiot than right now.

Learning a new system is a big deal. If you don't play sports maybe you wouldn't know, but you should still be able to comprehend that it has massive implications.

The 23 skaters on the rink right now are taking a split-second to think before making a play, skating with the puck, taking it up ice, etc. Nothing is second nature to them right now and muscle memory takes about 6 weeks to kick in according to the professionals.

This isn't some myth.

No, what we have on CP right now is a couple of donkeys who have an irrational dislike for a player and, despite the fact that the vast majority of posters disagree or strongly disagree with them, they just keep posting the same garbage.

The issue I have is this poster is basically using a fabricated comment as a base for his argument.

Sure you can be disappointed to Hamilton's start of the season last year, however saying that he is the sole reason we missed playoffs and it must be true because Kelly Hrudey said so is simply inaccurate.

I cannot wait to bump this crapfest at the end of the season, after Dougie has just finished hitting new career high point totals, and Trouba has a terrible year because he missed almost half the season only to come crawling back to Winnipeg once he realizes he's not going anywhere.
