Yeah, already going on from the plane phone of a Cessna C680 currently over Lake Michigan booking it directly to NYC.
It's totally him bro.
The only question now is whether the plane lands at JFK or Newark. If it's Newark I'll start to panic about negotiations not going well and I think you all should too

If it's Newark maybe Treviling is a man with a very particular set of skills and he is just rescuing Gaudreau.
Who cares, what does that have to do with you posing the question like which one of us joe blows wouldn't want to go for a nice little vacay / stroll in NYC.
Not that there's anything wrong with Tree going, but it's the end of training camp and he's making a ton of roster decisions. You pose the question like "who wouldn't want to take a long Sunday drive in the mountains"?
Weird.
It was just an aside as to how if I have a choice to hang around here versus spend a day or two in NYC, I'd like to do the latter. Sorry I upset your sensibilities. No need to get worked up about it.

Does he have a lot of roster decisions to make though? Coach kind of needs to figure out that, and Tree just needs to be brought in if a decision is Waiver impacting or PTO impacting. Not sure he and Gully can't just chat about that over the phone, or Cony can deal that up.
Tree's number one priority right now, and likely has been all through training camp is getting Johnny signed, mostly because that's just what is most important, and secondly because maybe that domino falling could actually impact other roster moves Tree actually wants to make. Whether he works on his top priority in Calgary or in NYC, or if him and Gross take a trip to Cancun to figure all this out, makes no difference to me, as it means Tree is focusing on what he should be.

Hearing #Flames GM Brad Treliving has traveled to NYC area to get down to business w/ Gaudreau's agent, Lewis Gross. Negotiations underway.
Great news update I bet Johnny's kids stick Sureloss breaks the story when he signs. After all he is a CP News Ninja.
Well hallelujah it's finally time to negotiate.
Regardless just get this done.
I think Gaudreau will be like this when he makes his way to Calgary to join his team mates.

I was gonna say - assuming no PTOs are being kept (which I think is the case) the roster is pretty much a coaching decision. The up and down guys are pretty much waiver exempt and on two ways. The only real management decision might be about Tkatchuk.
Eric Francis @EricFrancis
Important development as Brad Treliving will speak w Gaudreau in NYC today. Don't get too excited as sides are still more than $1.5m apart

"I would like to place a wager. I am putting on the line Johnny Gaudreau's undersized hockey stick. I think Sureloss will be the first one to post on the internet about the signing."

That's awesome that they're talking. But no offense to you Eric Francis, I take everything you say with a huge grain of salt.

I have a very difficult time believing that they're still that far apart.
I wonder if Francis has any update info that he's basing that off, or if he's just reiterating older info in regards to dollar amounts.

Ya exactly Sureloss has a real knack for being quick on the trigger and follows the right people. It is pretty impressive and Johnny has said he gets razed by team mates that he prefers a youth hockey stick because the flex suits him better

That's what I'm assuming. Haven't we heard from other sources that things are starting to get closer? And yet Francis reiterates what he wrote from last week that they're still $1.5M off.

I think Tre wants to hear things from the player himself ... justifying his ask... and explaining the team position...before he makes the next move... open up the wallet or trade him... has to be one or the other I would think
