That's what we tried last season and he did nothing.

Big test for Tkachuk tonight. Needs to show what he brings without having Brower on the same line.

Right, and by all accounts he's coming to camp more fit than ever which shows that he's at least trying. And he's also got a new coach now to hopefully make sure he's doing more than just skating out there. Like I said, this game is a test to see if he's actually capable of playing his game in the NHL this season.

Is this Center Ice preview also available on Telus?

Here's the Jets lineup:

The Flames roster should be released later this morning.
Really surprised Rasmus does not get one more look before Stockton.

- Can Chiasson elevate his game and fit in with some more skilled linemates? No Johnny or Monny to play with so these are the next best audition mates.
- Is Bollig going to be the fittest bench warmer in the NHL or actually get into some games this year?
- Is Poirier at least a 4th line caliber player who can provide energy since he's unable to do much offensively in the NHL? Probably AHL bound regardless.
- Will Chad Johnson continue to pee in Elliott's cornflakes forcing his way into a 1B situation instead of just B?

Edit: And Pierre I honestly thought Kulak already did that in the last Winnipeg game. Downright Brodie-like and then 2 goals on top against an overmatched line-up.
You don't win an NHL job with one good pre-season game. Consistency is key. If he can have another big game, that would help his cause a great deal.

I'd wish they try poirier on the right side with Bennet.

I didn't say he had won an NHL job. I said he passed Wotherspoon on the depth chart. He was impressive in the NHL this time last year as well.

Can somebody tell me why Korpikoski is getting into the amount of games handed out to him? From what i have seen he's done nothing.

Also has Stajan played every game?

I agree 100%. Wotherspoon has been in the organization for 5 years now. 5 years! He's 23. I think it's time some people come to grips with the fact that he's never going to be the full-time NHLer they hope he will. In fact I'd argue this is his last year with the team before they move on from him. He has failed to show he's able to take the next step. He's been "pushing" for a job as the 7th defenseman for two years now. Kulak has definitely passed him in my opinion.

Because this is the only time the organization has to assess him and the others on PTOs. Everyone else under contract has the entire season to move their way up or down the pecking order.

His play time has finally been coming down. Hutch and Helley have had good starts to the pre season... so if pavelec tanks it should help. There's no guarentee this loser is our starting goaltender.

Typical of the kind of player we don't need.... Wait till the final contract year, get in shape, put on a show to get a new contract... New contract signed ... Go back to same old self...

I wish Pavelec would go away to the KHL.

It's listed in the guide around 1200 so we'll have to wait and see if it works tonight. Unless anyone else can comment on if they have seen the free preview working yet?

Pens at Blue Jackets shows as listed on 1113 on Telus now. I flipped to it and had no luck.

Edit: also Telus website says free preview Oct 12-18

Going to the game tonight with my buddies. Haven't been to a Flames game in a few. This should be fun.
