Low danger save percentages varies between around 96% to 98% NHL goalie to NHL goalie
Medium danger save percentages varies between around 90% to 95% NHL goalie to NHL goalie

Give me a goalie with a 96% low danger save percentage, a 95% medium danger save percentage, and a 90% high danger save percentage over a goalie with a 100% low danger save percentage, 90% medium danger, 80% high danger save percentage.
And because low danger save percentages even for "bad" goalies are so high, low danger save percentage really gets lost in the noise as so many things can cause the extremely slight variations in it needed to get to the lower end of the range (such as.. dumb luck)

Am I the only one who is completely comfortable with Ortio as a dependable backup? I would be just fine with him backing up MAF/Bishop/Reimer, and getting 20-30 starts.

Nope. And the more I see the demands from other GM's on some of these goalies, the more i support pursuing Riemer as a stop-gap.
I was quite against Riemer too. I've actually surprised myself the fact I've warmed to the idea.
Stay the course, don't mortgage the future for a goalie. Pick one up before the expassion draft.

He can't truly be dense enough to not realize that he risks losing Murray to the expansion draft since MAF has a NMC that requires protection (unless that rule has changed yet again), and he's also under a serious cap crunch. Currently $2-3 million over the projected cap without doing anything. Teams are offering to take Fleury off his hands, removing both his $5.75 M cap hit for 3 more years and his NMC. Also leave young Murray as the undisputed starter going forward and they can protect him in the expansion draft without any worries.
If you're in his shoes, you get whatever you can reasonably expect the market to bear and get Fleury's diminishing value contract off the books ASAP. Seeing Andersen's value the other day should tell you that you aren't going to get much more than that, so take it and run. Asking for the moon will put you in Jim Benning territory: On the outside looking in.

Don't disagree except, what if the couple second rounders they'd get for Fleury are not as good as having a good backup for one more kick at a cup?
Pittsburgh doesn't lose Fleury for nothing, they do get one year of a high quality back up for another run at the cup. What's that worth?

The only kicker will be if Fleury indicates that he will be willing to waive his NMC to allow the Pens to expose him in the expansion draft.
Team could feel that lots of goalies will be available and maybe he won't get selected anyways, he also maybe doesn't mind going to Vegas for a couple seasons and potentially would want a shot to win another cup with this group.
