He played two seasons in the WHL with Trevor Kidd for the Wheat Kings. And in 1987 he played 6 games for the Moose Jaw Warriors with Theoren Fleury and Paul Kruze!! Wooooo!!!

On a side note - I bet Huska cannot wait to implement a new system in Stockton. I think that using Hartley's system in the AHL was a detriment to Huska and the reason Troy G. Ward was not brought back.

Eric Francis thinks he looks like Bruce Boudreau.

Brad was Brad (process x10 or so)
Yeah - Gulutzan was interesting, in a fluffy way.
Might be on the fan960 as audio?

Mostly fluff. Brad did mention that a very good communicator and teacher is the most important quality he sees in a coach.
Gulutzan thanked a bunch of people, also mentioned cheering for us in '04. His wife is also Calgarian.

5-man units makes me think of the old soviet teams. In my opinion the soviets played the best hockey I have ever seen. If we can get even a little of that style I will be ecstatic.

OK, get the Canadian Army to start an NHL team, and have it draft the 23 best players in the country. Problem solved, and just the way the Soviets did it.

I am interested to see what will happen with GG. I personally would be happy with him as a coach based on all I have heard, but the track record isn't exactly the best.

You assessed the new coach real superficial-like!

Francis on 960 says Flames didn't make official offer until yesterday.
He also says Flames talked to Benn, Sedins, Hutton, Babcock, McLellan about Gulutzan.

They also said that Treliving 'knew' some time ago in the process that Gulutzan was the guy.
In other words, they did not miss out on their first choice and had to reassess, as some have speculated.

After listening to Glen answer questions today and hearing about the "process" and the hike with Conroy I'm impressed.
This guy has seen thr evolution of the game.
So if Jared Bednar ( rumored) and Gelinas are the new asst coaches I cannot see the player's not buying in to new systems and philosophy.
This is exciting . We have some really great pieces on the ice and now behind the bench.
5 player units playing 3 zones reminds me allot of just finishing watching the Penguins and the way the completely dismantled the SHARKS in every aspect of the game.
Lots of talk after the finals about the Penguins not being as fast as they were given credit for makes me think okay then what about the system's. ?
THE PENS knew exactly where to be in every zone and limited all of their opponents.
It didn't hurt having a hot goalie.
So, what's going to happen at the draft?
Who will the Flames keep, trade , and upgrade on?
Hopefully we find a goalie soon and I hope as well that certain players get to establish themselves in the upcoming year with ice time .
Sam Bennet I think will be someone to watch. Glen already indicated that no one liked playing against Bennett and I think he's really happy that he gets to coach him.

Re: Bednar
Tortorella told Aaron Portzline that multiple NHL coaches have asked to speak with Bednar for assistant positions.
So Flames may have some competition on that front.
