Is there a poll for if you prefer quantity or quality?

If you wanted to do a top 20, maybe you should have given us 20 choices, and then eliminated the winning choice and done a new thread for #2, so on and so on.

I never much liked Suter in Calgary. He was too much of a one way player where playing defence was optional. Sure he put up points playing against weaker players but a guy like Macoun had a much better +-. Suter changed his game after he left Calgary and became a good defenceman but not while he was here.

I'd prefer to include guys who's best years might have been after calgary too. Would give an interesting perspective on the percentage of guys who had their best years in Calgary or vice versa

They are both top 10 though.
Well, I'm not McCrimmon expert, but Regehr played for team Canada in Olympics and World Cup of Hockey

For what it is worth, the season he was a 2nd team NHL all star (so top 4 NHL defencemen) was 1987-88 which was an Olympic year. Had NHLers been allowed to go to the Olympics it's virtually assured that he would have been on the team as a key member.

The 87-88 NHL second all star team also had Gretzky at center, so he was in pretty good company there.
