I agree, Bennett looked like a world beater in a very small handful of games last year. Me also hope it's an indication of long term potential once he finds his consistency.

Also agree it's far to early, but I don't think it's unfair to categorize the players after the early days as one showing more consistency and the other showing small dosages of brilliance.

Well that sucked, not even close.

I blame Jay Feaster for not getting a conditional 2016 first rounder in the Bouwmeester trade

I'm so glad the Blues won. If any NHL franchise finally deserves to hoist the Stanley Cup, it's St.Louis. They are the Chicago Cubs of the NHL.

Yep, it was Thanksgiving on Monday, Oct. 12 and it was 5-1 heading into the 2nd period. Seabrook scored the GWG and Niemi took over in net for the Bhawks. http://flames.nhl.com/gamecenter/en/recap?id=2009020071

I guess that is what you get when you cheer for a draft pick. Point taken hockey gods.

Congrats to St. Louis but man another first round pick would've been nice

Jokipakka being such a breath of fresh air on the back end made losing the 1st an easy pill to swallow. If we didn't get Kevin the trade would be on par with what the minimalists were thinking Russell would net in return.

For sure.

2nd rounder + Brett Pollock + Kevin is a fantastic return for Russell.

The 1st rounder would've just made it that much sweeter.

That must have been one of the biggest choke jobs in a game 7 of all time?

That was embarrassingly bad.

That is unless you're awarded 4 of them in a 6 year span. What do you think they were cheering for?

I was at the Ducks/Flames one ten years ago. Can't remember the score offhand, but I've seem a better effort from my 7 year old daughter's awful soccer team.

They deserve nothing. Not until that cup is actually hoisted.

It's not like they've had a few trips to the finals to no avail. They've been early round chokers.

The Blues are just a better, deeper team. Their forward depth, in particular, is insane. I think beating the Hawks was the monkey off their back, and they'll go all the way now.

Well that it is too bad. Guess I grade the return on Russell an A- instead of an A+. Still a very strong trade for BT, with a sharp guy on the other side.

For a 7 game series, it never really felt like Dallas was going to win. Kind of a weird series that way, for me.

Dallas has better forwards IMO...this series was lost between the pipes and the fact that Dallas had one of their top forwards miss the entire playoffs

even last night Dallas controlled long stretches of the game...they came out with chance after chance only to have their goal tender give up bad goal after bad goal

I've still never left a building more angry than from that game. It was like they were all still drunk from the night before, just a pitiful performance.
