The 1st round of the playoffs will be enjoyable. New York/New York and California/California

It blows my mind how "those people" keep underrating Hudler and how he can help a team on the cusp.

I could be wrong, but is TSN's ranking list not done based on likelihood of being traded as opposed to how good they are?

Okay, let's run with that...
Chance of Hudler being traded: almost 100%
Chance of Schultz being traded: depends on Blue Meth production

I could be wrong, but I don't recall the Flames ever retaining salary or buying people out. It doesn't seem within the character of the owners, particularly Edwards, to pay people to not play for them.
I just see a lot of hypotheticals inolving either buying people out or retaining salary and I don't know how realistic that is given that the Flames seem to be the one franchise that never does either.

Whoa lol. How in Hades does Purcell top the list ahead of Hudler? 4.5m cap hit vs. 4m for Hudler, same age brackett, far less production. Much more experienced playoff record, etc etc etc, I can see Schultz as he is younger and cheaper, that must factor in. But then again the Purcell listing negates that logic.
Whatever. Hudler will move and with any luck, so will Russell.

They just bought out O'Brien two off seasons ago.

The Russell stuff is in the Russell thread (don't ask me which one, they all seem to be Russell threads these days), but here's a bit on Wideman:
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/w...no-sure-thing/
Quote:
Don’t rule out a Dennis Wideman deal at the deadline. Especially if the Flames were willing to eat some of his deal
Wideman still works the power play well, so much so that the Flames have been able to save more of T.J. Brodie’s minutes for even strength this season. If the Flames took back a chunk of his $5.25 cap hit for next season, he could give a team like Toronto or Edmonton a useful power-play defenceman next season, then become a valuable trading piece at next year’s deadline.
It would only work for teams that need players, have cap space, and aren’t afraid to rent a player for one year. We suspect Calgary would be pleased to have as much of Wideman’s salary disappear as possible.

David Kaplan – Verified account @thekapman
The Blackhawks are still trying to make another trade. Talks ongoing but not sure if it gets done.

You know the list is bad when we don't even know what the order is supposed to signify

Erickson is going to sign with Boston so I doubt it. All Toronto UFAs would be at the top of the list.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
While LA has been in on EDM's Teddy Purcell, FLA is believed to be making a strong push for pending UFA winger.

Good Purcell can go to FLA. There really is nothing I'd want from them for Hudler or Russell.
EDIT: For clarity, nothing I'd want that Tallon will move. Crouse et al aren't available, he's said as much yesterday or today.
