I would happily take him on the Panthers. Here's hoping.

I think people are over-reacting a little to that radio bit.
Thought it was good entertainment, two guys going at it who actually seem to give a damn about their position.
I'll take that over mind-numbing take-us-through-the-paces sports radio any day, which is usually what 960 offers up.

This "loubo" guy is super annoying and childish when did he become so angry? Man from a guy who listens to Toronto radio even this guy should not be on the air

Right. Because clearly any human being who has ever lost his temper at work ought to be fired from his job and never allowed to get another one. Raising your voice to a coworker should be punishable by the loss of your career and all income for the rest of your life. Sounds good to me.

No, that's not the point. If you're in broadcasting you have to maintain a level of decorum no matter what the circumstances. That was a PERSONAL argument where it was clearly an issue between the two people, not the issue itself. You don't see media people with any credibility whatsoever do that kind of thing.

It's nice that Ladd might be traded early on in the traded-deadline season.
Better than waiting for people like Moulson to be traded, then not having any time to trade our own guys last minute (like Cammy).
With Ladd gone, Hudler will be one of the better UFA forwards available in the coming days.

Can't help but agree. There were similar moments last year with Loubo and Wills. Covering an NHL team for Sportsnet is the pros, and should be treated as a privilege. IMO

I love it.
That was good radio, and we don't get it enough. Seriously, when you have two guys on for 6 hours a day agreeing with everything, there isn't a conversation to be had that's worth tuning in for. I like it when people in the business take sides and defend them, because then they're being honest rather than just sticking to the ho-hum script they're given. It's not about a lack of respect, it's about a different of opinions based on their backgrounds. Loubo has many long standing relationships and knowledge with a lot of current NHLers from their junior days, so in truth he does have more of an inside track. However, he may also be a bit to close to it to see it objectively, too.
I'm not that high on Russell, but I do agree with what Loubo says about him not being solely responsible for being hemmed in his end and being forced to block a large amount of shots. It's as much on his partner, and the forwards that should be coming back. But if he were a high end second pairing guy then he would make some difference in that regard. I do think he's the best choice for any team's third pairing, though. And he's a heart and soul kind of guy that you want in your leadership group.
I think he should fetch a 2nd or very good prospect with the current market and lack of d-men out there that can help you. Maybe more, like a 2nd and 3rd. Hell, Glencross got us that and he's no longer in the league. Does he fetch a late 1st? Maybe. Just maybe. He's got value though, absolutely.

Actually, there are plenty of media people who do that kind of thing routinely. Now, you will probably say that they, by definition (your definition), have no credibility; but that would be arguing in a circle.
And it is PRECISELY the point, if you want both of them banned from the airwaves because they had a spat on the radio. If shouting on the air deserves permanent unemployment in your books, I shudder to think what any real offence is worth. Decapitation?

In the next 24hrs will get some clarity as to whether Hamhuis will waive.
Blackhawks can take a $4 million cap hit right now.
If they need more cap space, it is possible they offer inducements for a team to take Bickell off their hands
|
if Canucks retained Hamhuis/Vrbata both at 50% the Hawks would be right under the cap

Oilers getting close on Teddy Purcell deal. Won't be surprised if he's sat tonight. Were looking for second-round pick at one point.
If Purcell gets a 2nd... Flames going to get $$$$$$$$$ for Hudler

I too thought that was entertaining radio! There's nothing wrong with two guys arguing their opinions and things getting a little heated. It makes for good listening and a nice change of pace.

All the more reason for Russell to not be on our top 4. We need a guy who can at least do four of the six things I named, and that's one we'd really benefit from.
