Well we definitely have a bunch of $4 winners and maybe $7 here and there. Not $1200 in winnings, but not zero!

Sweet. I'll have to find some time to go down again and drink away our winnings.

I think I am going to use a gift card and get 50 bucks in western 6/49 and 6/49 tickets just to stay in the spirit of things.
I figure the odds of winning one of the guaranteed draws may increase with everyone playing the powerball. And it helps me get rid of a gift card I never wanted.

What if by some chance you guys fluked into something like 2000.00, what would be done with that? Divvy it up or be nice to who ever has to claim all those tickets or donate it to an ironic charity such as https://www.problemgambling.ca/EN/WebSiteLinks/Pages/CanadianResources.aspx

wait for the next draw that crosses $500,000,000 and reinvest in tickets.

or

buy you can buy tickets where you get the same numbers entered into the next 10, 20, 40 (etc) draws.

I think there are apps that you can scan tickets with.

I don't buy the ticket thinking I'm going to win. I buy it for the right to dream for a few day.

Was a good few days of dreaming.

There were three winning tickets sold. One each in California, Florida, and Tennessee.

Pardon my ignorant and technologically ineducationalized question: How come lotteries haven't been hacked? Credit cards, retailers with multi-billion dollar market caps, tech companies of every size, etc., seem to get hacked all the time these days.

I don't know how they would get hacked, and I don't know that they haven't, but this last Powerball and monster lotteries like it--and even smaller <!> ~$10 million draws--would be a tempting target, I'd think.

They do the draw with a physical ball system.

So, two were certainly in trailer parks, and it's just the California one that's up in the air...

Hey Swarly,

I sent you message last night asking for your email address because it was not provided with the email transfer. When I get your address I can forward you the tickets.

I can just imaging somewhere someone saw the numbers and thought they'd won during a drawing party

"Ha hahahahahahahaha, so long losers, screw you Carl, I've always hated you. Hey boss I quit, you feeble minded twit, if your daddy didn't own the company you'd be mopping the floors.

Oh to my lovely wife, I'm rich so you'd better get your flabby butt on the Star master, oh and get rid of that foul stanky beast you call a mother"

Looks at the ticket closer

"Aw crap"

Lotteries have been hacked...

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/07...rector_guilty/

But, as noted, the Powerball lottery uses a drum and ball system rather than computerized random numbers. IIRC, 6/49 and Lotto Max still use ball and drum as well.
