I think Rathji is well know as being in IT as well on this site. People associate computer smarts with logical thinking and therefore likely pegged him as a good candidate to bet on. Way to prove 'em wrong squiggs!
|
Oh for sure, I have tons of respect for Rathji's logical thinking as well based on past games. Just a comment that the death match was two strong players, and its tough to handicap that.

I understood it as the band aid man gave us all a G to bet with (kind of like a side bet for us that weren't playing) and I was in a rush, so didn't bother asking for clarification.
Have pity on the poor dumb blonde...

The death match looked fun and for a moment prior to the game I was kind of sad not to be involved. Once the game started I was very happy to be on the sidelines. I probably would have gone with halves but I loved the idea of looking at odds and evens and working on each number individually.
I was very impressed with the game play.

HELLO!
We will begin Round 2 of CP The Genius.
Rathji was eliminated in Round 1 and now there are 14 players remaining.
The current Gaudreau counts are:
GGG has 6
Hockeyguy15 and GP_Matt have 5
Starseed has 4
squiggs96 has 3
Puxlut has 0
All other players have 1
There are a total of 31 Gaudreaus which means you all currently hold a share of $31
--- -------
The 2nd Main match is
TODAY'S MENU
In Today's Menu, you will guess how many players placed the same order as you to earn points. Today's Menu will be played over 4 rounds.
The Round Times will be
Round 1: Sunday 6pm - Monday 9:30am & 9:30am - 11:30am
Round 2: Monday 11:30am - 4pm & 4pm - 6pm
Round 3: Monday 6pm - Tuesday 9:30am & 9:30am - 11:30am
Round 4: Tuesday 11:30am - 4pm & 4pm - 6pm
(this will make sense in a moment)
Each player will be given Mini Donuts, Nachos, and Heroin Beer menu cards as well as a card box.
When a round begins, players will PM GirlySports the item of their choice before the end of the first deadline (ie, 9:30am). The menu item chosen by each player will not be revealed at this point. Your order will be locked and cannot be changed after the first deadline.
Each player will guess how many people placed the same order as them and place their card box on the appropriate section on the game table by the first deadline (ie. 9:30am)
There are 6 different sections to guess the number of expected people.
On a successful guess, each section will give a different number of points
When every player has placed their card box on a section, you will be given 2 hours (ie 9:30 - 11:30) to change your guess. In other words, you may change your guess after seeing everyone else's guesses (however you can no longer change your order)
Then every box will be opened to reveal the orders.
Players who guessed correctly will earn points based on the number of people with the same order.
Square A: (1 person): 6 points
Square B: (2 to 3 people): 4 points
Square C: (4 to 5 people): 3 points
Square D: (6 to 8 people): 2 points
Square E: (9 to 13 people): 1 point
Square F: (all 14 people): 5 points
Players who guessed incorrectly will not earn any points.
Winning Conditions
All 4 rounds will be played in the same manner. The player with the most points will be the winner, the player with the least points will be the elimination candidate. If there is a sole winner, they will receive 2 Gios and must give one to another player.
All players, including the elimination candidate, will also earn 1 Gaudreau for every 4 points they earn. Every point earned beyond 16 points will be worth an additional Gaudreau
You may not give your card box to another player. The only item allowed to be given away in this round are Gaudreaus.

This game is a bit time sensitive so I will start it Sunday night. There isn't much you have to do other than PM me an order and the in the thread place your card box on the game table.
It's the 2 hour sessions that are most important. If you have any questions or if these times don't work for you, post here

The nighttime 2 hour sessions may overlap bed times for my kids here (7-9pm) but I'll make it work.

Well if you have to miss the 2 hours it doesn't sound like the end of the world, you just won't be able to change your square for the number of people with your order. At least you won't turn into a zombie again!

So we just pick one of the three items as our order? Or can our order include 2 or 3 items?
Also, in the 2 hour time windows, if we want to move our box, do we do that in the thread here, or is that PM action as well?

Just pick one of the three items.
All box movements are done in the thread. The only PM you are sending to me is your order.

n00b player here, so bear that in mind. 5-6 hours to order, but only 2 to guess almost seems backwards. Ordering one of three items should be pretty easy to do. If the two hour window is a concern, couldn't it be stretched by an hour or two while the order window gets reduced by an hour or two?
Please don't eliminate me.

just to clarify, we have to choose between those three items in every single round, right? So technically I can choose the same item in every round?

Possibly, I had thought about this too.
You have to place your order and then have to put your box somewhere on the table in the first 5-6 hours then have the option to move it in the following 2 hour window. We need 5-6 hours because it gives time for you guys to talk to each other and to put your box on the table. This is important because if there are not 14 boxes on the table at the first deadline, we have no game.

Yes, each round is played separately.

I have to teach a coaches clinic on Sunday 9am-12 and then I have a swim meet from 1-5. Does that mean I'm screwed? There's no way I can get to my phone in those 3 hours....
