Sorry to say that with 17 forwards that legitimately could or should be in the NHL, I don't see any way the #Flames can fit in Olli Jokinen.

Good example of his wheels, dangerous on the PK.

You are one of many not realizing / understanding we have a significant amount of cap space / contracts coming off the books over the next few years as well.

I think he'll be a great fit. The Winnipeg media guy on FAN960 really seems to like him. "Elite" PK guy, very strong defensively, very good possession player, good wheels, versatile, has offence. What's not to like?

lol

But I have to think a trade or two is coming. Clearly there is no need for Raymond

I really hope this means that Treliving is confident he can unload Raymond somewhere. Getting that 3m off the books would completely eliminate any cap pressure the Flames might be under. Hopefully Mr. Wizard starts calling some teams looking to reach the cap floor

so would you leave Bennett on the wing for one more season and let him play with Backlund and Frolik?

I've placed this poster on ignore now. He's against the grain on every topic even if it doesn't makes sense. From liking Gordon trade for Oilers, before Hamilton signing saying ppl won't like the saying once its announced, to not liking the term on this etc etc...Easy pass on his posting.

Great signing but it does open a way for Hudler to move out though.

"Who is Hunter Smith" put him on the radar early.

You don't put Ferland on the 4th line and Byron on the 2nd. Also, where's Jones and Raymond?

I never said it's a bad signing - I just think it's a knee-jerk one. It's not a great one though. As long as he remains productive he'll be movable but at the same time look at his playoff stats against Anaheim - 0 goals 0 assists in 17:22. That's the team we're trying to beat and he wasn't very effective against them last year. I would love if Frolik proves me wrong and turns out to be our Justin Williams. I'm just not banking on it.

And considering a great possession players in Jooris got pushed out of the lineup for Bollig/Raymond, I wouldn't bank on that either. The only way to rid ourselves of bad possession players is to get them off the roster.

In other news, we're just a Czech Centre away from icing a Czech line:

Hudler-Frolik
Smid-Nakladal

I thought I saw 6'0 and 190something.

But yeah, I guess he's more like average in any case. Would like to see us get bigger, but Frolik should make us better which is more important

As for where he fits, he was 116th in points by forwards in the league last season, so above average 2nd line production.

Great contract for a UFA. There's always risk with a 5 year contract, but to get quality players you have to give quality contracts.
