I don't know how HBO is doing it without a deal (public domain most likely), but they are

The first episode includes a scene from a conference room with a Packers logo on the wall. Later, one of the characters visits the fictional coach of the Miami Dolphins, who is wearing a hat with a Dolphins logo (the old logo, not the current one). The second episode includes multiple scenes at a Dolphins offseason practice, with the players wearing helmets bearing the Dolphins logo (the current one, not the old one).
“HBO is always mindful of other intellectual property owners, but in this context there is no legal requirement to obtain their consent,” an HBO spokesperson said in a statement issued to PFT on Sunday afternoon. HBO confirmed that the NFL has no involvement in the series.
Pilot was alright I guess, but my slate of shows is too full at this point to take on another show just cause there's boobies in it. Has to actually be some quality cause enough of my shows fulfill the boob requirement.

My thoughts exactly, the pilot just wasn't very entertaining. It wasn't funny, it didn't have a compelling story, and the acting wasn't particularly good. All I was left thinking after watching it was "What was the point?"
25 minutes of killing time with something mindless?
HBO has easily the two best half hour shows on TV right now, in Veep an Silicon Valley. But these both just ended, making Ballers an OK watch or miss in the void now left on the HBO Sunday schedule.
Pretty large meh from me. I disagree so far about the Entourage comparisons. For all the crap that show gets, it's 100x funnier than this show. It doesn't seem like they're going for as much humour, or maybe it just feels played out with Entourage. Maybe we'll see more humour as characters' personalities get fleshed out a little more, but there's certainly no Johnny Drama, and Cordrry does a good sleaze, but doesn't have the one-liners and energy that made Gold so great.
I'll give it another couple tries, but not so impressed thus far.

Silicon Valley ended? I bought the first season cheap few weeks ago and ended up watching it in a weekend.. Was hoping there were 3-4 more out there and I'd just been living under a rock.
Just checked, I see you meant done for the second season. Appears to be renewed for a third
