Getting off topic from the original post, but anyway...
I'd say both countries have their pros/cons; when I'm here I miss Canada, when I am in Canada I miss Japan. What I like about Japan: Japan is more polite, cleaner, safer and has more culture (that may seem hard to believe, and it's hard to explain; you'd have to visit so I can give you a short walking tour, then you'd get it

) Plus the transportation standards and cheap flights (tons of airlines, lots of competition; costs roughly $60 one way from Fukuoka to Tokyo which is a 2 hr flight) adds to the awesomeness.
Edit: It's also cheaper for things like food/beer, going out (no tipping required). Plus, another big one for me... Washlets.... trust me, once you tried one; got used to one... you'd never want to go without one:
