They shouldn't though, the idea is that you're dead and this is your last unfiltered argument. If they reveal town you take it at face value, disregard or analyze however you want if scum.
The issue is having multiple people do death posts or people changing their votes last second.

Clarify that a bit.

Obviously, yes death posts aren't confusing after the fact. It's before the fact when scum is making a last effort to stay alive, when they'll almost say anything to gain trust.

Well that's why death posts should mean death far far more often than not. Last minute flips after a death post allow the scum to bluff their way with death posts, like you say. Occasionally it makes some sense to flip, but I think with death posts the town needs to stick to their guns in lynching them far far more than allowing the vote to change.

Theoretically I agree with you, but I think the tone of a death post is very important. Girly's for example was rather acceptive and matter-of-fact-ish. More often than not, scum will at least be defensive in some way or another - whether it be listing folk or something else.

Well yeah, if the 'rule' wasn't that you posted them before being killed we would just call them posts.

I want to hear Sebs ECF arguement.
I'm comfortable where I am with the suspicious timing of ECFs vote trying to move votes of either HG or Diss. But I want to hear Sebs reasoning.
Going back to reread a bit but I'm going to a concert tonight so will be in and out but not able to post a lot.

Oling: remind me if I'm wrong... but when you were scum last game and it looked like you were JUST about to get lynched, didn't you say you were going to "be away" for a bit and try to post a death post but instead wound up trying to get votes swayed away from you? I seem to remember a couple of last minute changes with this tactic. I'm not sure if I'm wording this right? But it seems familiar to what HG has done. It 360'd to mrkwhutdtf to having the majority vote.
If it's down to the wire, I'll switch my vote to ECF so we have a tie. But I'd rather have it HG or ECF go down.

Hey gang, I got 15 minutes here before I gotta hit the highway to loser town for the Canada game tomorrow so I'll try and put my final thoughts in and answer some questions.
-the early death post: I saw the way the tides was going. With Oling and Seb voting for me, I figured Bizarro and Pux weren't far behind. I figured Peanut would probably jump on at the end. Looks like that has mostly come to pass.
-GGG's reasoning for me (and the only reasoning I can find against me so far...) is for trying to divert from HG. Yeah, I did try and divert because I think he is town and everyone was hammering him - wanted to start some new discussions.
unvote
Vote: mrkajz44
Had my vote on him almost the entire (game) day. Still high on my list.
Oling and Seb - would love to hear any explanation at all from either of you as to your votes. The silence is incredible. Everyone else - make sure you push them for an answer tomorrow if I do get lynched.

As I said before, the sudden change in votes was somewhat of a surprise to me and the more I think about it, the more it seems very convenient that ECF and HG both need to do their "death posts" early, causing a lot of votes to shift around. There might be a little noise in there (I think Seb ruined that word for us now), but I can't help but feel like one of those posts were planned to be early, allowing scum to move over the vote without it looking like a mass move late.

Death post, then vote to save yourself?
I've been clear that I thought you were an inconspicuous poster for awhile, blending in, looking not to get blood on your hands etc. It's hard to come up with 'reasons' when you play like that - hence the vote. You also trusted me in voting out GirlySports, who by the way called you out as well, and yet now because I vote you you are quick to accuse me of something. As for SebC and Puxlut, still no reasons not to trust they are town?
SebC, Puxlut and myself could be wrong. Easily could be. You're argument is not to trust us though, not that we are wrong. I know I can trust myself and I strongly believe I can trust those two and you haven't provided any reasons not to.

Laying low certainly was a tactic. There were times I was actually away though too.

Interesting that if the two people Diss and HG I accused you of diverting attention away from you picked HG rather than Diss

Oling - Not sure how I was inconspicuous. I believe I was the second vote on Girly after you, and then I was the first to vote for Mrjakjzkhghgkhz. As the last game showed, you can't fully trust anyone. I find all 3 of your claims flimsy and it has allowed you to have quite the voting block (along with Bizzaro). That's a lot of power for a group.
GGG - I have mentioned in several posts that I think both Diss and HG are town and I wished they would get off each other as they seemed to have the town going in circles.

If anyone passed the spore last night let the town know and we can lynch oling. This is unlikely.
SebC still waiting for your thoughts on yesterday as you failed to post them before the end of the day. I think your play like no scum would strategy is fooling people.
Since Girly was town I suspect one scum was mixing it up yesterday trying to lynch her and the others likely stayed on the sidelines
Pushing to lynch Girly
Oling - switched late
HG
Diss
Timbo
Bizaro86
Devo - I put devo and squigs in active but they were less vocal than others on this lid
Squiggs
Quietly lynched girly
Lego
Peanut
GGG - I include myself here as by the end of the day I was ready to vote her out based on me believing she was more likely scum then unturned. Feel free to move me to actively against if you'd like
ECF
SebC - voted to lynch her, unvoted then actively lurked the rest of the day
Actively Against -
Oling - at the end
GGG - at the start
MrKacjz
Party - less active than others
Pux - less active than others
I want to lynch someone on the quietly for lynch. These are the skaters. There is at least 1 sum in that group. I want to turn up the heat on. SebC.
vote sebC
|
Here is my other reason to lynch ECF. One of Lego, Peanut, SebC, or ECF is scum based on their Day 2 behaviour. Seb is highly likely to be town, I like Legos posting today although it's been sporadic it's been content filled. Peanut I don't have a read on and could definitely be lurker scum but the way she was the hammer on girly leads me to believe otherwise. That leaves ECF as the front runner from that group.

Something feels off about this vote. Looking at that vote count and the way all the votes happened, it just seems as if this would be the perfect chance for scum to lay low and distribute their votes evenly and have town members accusing each other in the following day.

I know which is why it's suspicious that you stated you were diverting attention away from HG. And failed to mention Diss who was more of the target at the time. Only means something if you flip scum though.

Who would you say is laying low today? The one for sure is peanut.
Bizaro, Timbo, HG, oling, diss, Seb, mrkajz have all been active
Party, Squiggs, me, you have been somewhat active
ECF is now active. Pux is town
Who am I missing?

Looking back the votes were 2-2 when I voted for Mrkajzjgbagha
This was after about 4 pages of going in circles that I didn't think was getting anywhere
