Is it possible to get a DUI on a Rascal scooter? If not that's a great option to getting to and from the bar.

I believe it would be possible as it's motorized.

Nope. It falls under the same category as a wheelchair. You are allowed to drink if you're in a wheelchair and you're allowed to drink if you are in a rascal.

Stand facing the back. Make small talk. Or don't. Fart. Or not. I really don't care.

But folks who can't sort out the simple task of determining precedence in a elevator should be forced to take the stairs.

In office buildings, its like a four-way stop. If you were there first, you go first. This is especially important if the elevator or the lobby is crowded. You're closest to the door? Great. Get in, get to the back, and do it quickly to let everyone else on.

If its not clear who got there first - ladies go first. Its the same thing as two vehicles arriving at a four way stop at the same time, the vehicle on the right has right of way. If a man and woman arrive at an elevator at the same time, she goes first. Woman = vehicle on the right.

Clearly disabled folks, the elderly, and those laden down with packages are like emergency vehicles. They always have right of way.

It is awesome. I have flipped it twice, though. Once I tried to go straight up a grassy berm and it flipped over backwards so my light was shining straight in the air. I was still in the chair, but the back was on the ground and I was looking at the sky. It must have been quite the sight for people driving by.

Haha awesome. Do you have a picture of one? I'm sure I've seen one before, but just want a visual.

People smile at me with this pleasant, pitying look. Cars will stop for me to let me cross the street even if I'm not at a corner. It's all very nice.
Hahahahaha you own a rascal scooter?!?!?!?

You're a god damn mad man. I don't know if all your crazy eccentricities would drive me crazy or fill me with joy if I happened to be your neighbor.

"there goes Bill, he's disabled this morning "

You're going to be the craziest funniest old man.

No, that's not yours. We want a real picture not one of the same model. Preferably parked in your party garage next to the inflatable furniture.

A dog hating, lake loving, clip-on tie wearing guy who cruises to and from the bars on a mobility scooter? You can't be a real life person ha ha. If so, you're one eccentric individual.

Rude and self centred.
100% incorrect. Holding the elevator door open for people is the equivalent of driving and slowing down so that someone at a yield can get in front of you. It's not a merge, so the better flow for all traffic is for the other driver to yield until there is a proper gap to enter traffic. By you letting that person in, you are delaying everyone behind you to satisfy the wants of a person who is too impatient to wait their turn.

Not holding the elevator is better for society as a whole. There are already people in the elevator waiting to go. Where you see that you are being nice and courteous to one person who isn't in the elevator, you are actually being rude to the 10 people in the elevator. The person not in the elevator could wait 10 seconds for the next high speed elevator instead of you wasting 30 seconds of 10 people's time. By holding the elevator door you've wasted 3 minutes of total time instead of 10 seconds of total time for the one person. If that person gets off on the lowest floor, this compounds the problem.

If I see an elevator door closing before I'm in it, I just let it close and take the next one. The dbags who put their arms in it instead of waiting are terrible people.

Alright, I'll do you one better. I'll get a picture of the scooter, in my garage, next to a keg of beer this weekend. If the stars align, I may even have my garage cat by then, but I'm not promising that one.

Does it change at all if the elevator is partially full or almost full? You expect everyone on that elevator to wait for someone? And frankly, in busier offices, there's always going to be one more person. We waited for that guy, but now there's a chick a couple seconds away from getting on. Well, now she's on, but there's that guy.

Why is it self centred to say, "you didn't make it?" It's not like I spit in the guys face, kicked him in the nuts and pushed him off the elevator. There are other elevators and this one will come back down too. You can wait. And no, I don't care if someone doesn't hold the elevator for me. Such is life.
Obviously certain situations call for different responses. In places like an office tower at 8 am, I wouldn't expect anyone to go out of their way to hold the door for the flood of people straggling in, but obviously that is situation dependent.

My comment was more relevant to the situation that I mentioned in an apartment building where elevators are never full. Also, and more importantly, related to those in the forum who said they never hold the door open. That is a pretty dick move. EDIT: Also it seems people are viewing the situation in different circumstances. Other strangers in the elevator, let it be. Only you, im sure you can wait.

Not only do I not hold the door open for people, I purposely turn around and slam in their faces. If I had to put in the effort to swing it open, why shouldn't they? What do they think, they're better than me? I had to work for my open door, why do they just deserve it? I'm the one that opened it in the first place, do it yourselves. If you're disabled, that's what the button is for.

F*** everyone else.
